~𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐡~

Some gurad interrogates me about last night.
I tell him all the details but the ones about murdering Fredrick.
And finally I'm excused back to my room.

This castle is honestly splendid.
The windows' views land on the most beautiful garden I've ever seen. However, in all misfortunity, we're not allowed outside as the danger is not yet eliminated completely.

A guard follows behind me everywhere I go.
I must say, it's so annoying to be in a castle like this and not be able to wander around aimlessly.

I feel a hand I know all too well on my back shoulder. Warmth I've been eager to feel everyday of my life. Elijah. It can't be. No way.
"My lady" it really is him.
I stand there shocked.
He breaks the silence first. Knowing damn well I wouldn't be able to utter a word.
"I'll be your personal guard, if that's not a burden"
"Uh- Ofcourse not, Officer-" he cuts me short before I accidentally say his name.
"Reyes. Officer Reyes." I nod.

We don't speak through our way to my room. Because we both know that would be foolish of us.

As soon as we enter the room and close the door, he gives me the most passionate kiss, yet it's so gentle.
He always give the best kisses. Something about his lips colliding with mine sends shivers. I was always so desperate for his touch.
But now... it feels different.
"How'd you get here?" I say breaking the kiss.
"What can I say? Your boyfriend's smart" he says proudly.
I let out a fake chuckle.
He really is the smartest person I know though.
He leans in for another kiss, but shortly after I break it again.
"Love, I don't want to get you in trouble"
He strokes my hair.
"It'd be worth it" he smiles.
I try to smile back, knowing damn well I wouldn't be able to fake it, and he'll just see right through it.
"What's wrong my love?"
"I- I just can't help but feel like I failed at my one mission. And it's like you're always the one fixing my mistakes. I don't want be of any trouble to you." I say truthfully.
"Love, I get it, it can be so frustrating knowing that you haven't done your job properly, but hey, look at me, you have done enough. You are enough. And I don't mind the trouble you cause."
He always somehow finds the perfect words I needed to hear. The perfect words to comfort me and make me feel loved.
"Baby, I love you" and for the first time ever in our 2 years relationship, I couldn't bring myself to say it back. It's like I almost didn't feel it anymore....
So instead I give him a firm hug.
I still feel safe in his arms though. He's smart, and strong, he wouldn't let anyone hurt me... ever.
"Ok I really need to go, but I promise I'll come whenever I can" He gives me a final kiss on my temples and leaves me to my thoughts.
But as soon as he reaches the door, it opens. Fredrick looks almost angry. He looks at Elijah up and down.
Until finally Elijah speaks up. "Your highness" he bows his head and leaves the room.
