We steal about ten horses from the royal stables. Though our numbers exceed that by double, Vanessa says it's better, as it'll draw less attention.
I ride behind Elijah, who keeps comforting me everytime he senses my discomfort.
It really is nice to have an amazing boyfriend like Elijah."We'll ride at full speed at first. Until we're certain we've lost them, as they will undoubtedly follow us." Vanessa instructs as everyone mounts their horses.
We've killed our way through the castle. And the fact that it's not yet dawn makes it all the better.
My headache is only growing stronger by the second. To the point I feel like it'll explode any moment now.
We nearly reach the back exit. Gerald and the other archers take down the soldiers guarding the gate, and we stride past it.
Not too long after, we hear heavy thuds of what seems like an army of horses. Elijah and the rest of the crew increase their pace at an alarming rate, and my headache isn't helping.
"Hold on tight babe" he says in a yell, barely Audible through the loud footsteps and screams.
There was an army of roughly 30 soliders behid us. All armed and ready.
I wonder how they found out about us this fast.
We have barely made any sound. And as Vanessa says, the walls are well isolated. Finally, we were able to outrun them. But I still get a bad sensation, almost as if it was wrong to leave the castle in first place.
"We did it!" Elijah whispers to me as we slow down.
I only nod and smile while he looks at me at the corner of his eye with the sweetest and most genuine smile ever.
I almsot feel like he doesn't deserve me.Yet the horses have slowed down a bit, we're still practically running.
As I lose my sleep, I slowly start regaining memories of these past few days.
Who wanted me? I question.
Why in the world did they assume it was me who murdered the queen? I couldn't have possibly done something while unconscious.
And have my crew really done this all just to save me?
Though Farley is the one with the authority, I still don't think she'd sacrifice all these lives for me. And I'm totally with that.
No, no, it has to be for another reason.
Perhaps they've been here all along, and were the ones who made these attacks.
Was it them who were searching for me?
If so, do they even know the prince is still alive?
And from where did all these people come from?
I'm no stranger to our crew expanding, but never has it been this enormous.
I don't even know half of these people. The throbbing in my head only worsens as all these unanswered questions whirl around.
And so I decide to take a nap, as it seems we're no where near the base yet.
