The guards carry us to the back of the room, while screaming some nonsense.
Elijah scrurries over to me, "love, stay safe" he says in the lowest voice possible, so I'm his only audience.
He quickly hastens over to the door, along with the other guards, and jolt it.Fredrick appears once again and begins to comfort everyone in the room, one by one. Lastly he reaches me, "September, my deepest apologies you didn't get to finish your cake," he says sarcastically "but uh, it appears there's an attack in the castle, so allow me to make it up to you later" he can't possibly be asking me on a date in the middle of an attack.
"Um Ya, sure"
"Great" he says while leaning to the wall next to me.
He has his sword drawn and ready."So about the attack, what do you know so far?" I need to get information.
"It seems to be done from the second floor. The attack is not immense, but the ones doing it know their shit. By far, they've done the biggest damage. They've been attacking since yesterday, by killing guards and what not."
Only I could hear him. But I'm actually surprised I could get any information from him, considering I've made several attempts on his life."You think there's more than one group attacking?"
"At least two"
"And what do you think they want?"
"The first one, this one, seems to be attacking for someone. Like they're looking for someone."The other one however, is a rebellious attack. Seems to me like they're here for the resources. Father thinks they want more than just food, but he's quite blind on the starvation his people go through, so it's expected"
'Odd how you were the one who highered taxes' I think to myself.I hear a couple of muffled screams here and there. The clanging sounds of swords. And criees of torment.
I shut my eyes and picture myself in the base, training. Though that merely doesn't distract me from the fact that people out there are dying. It helps.
People used to always scream there, so it mustn't be too hard to pretend to be there.
Suddenly the door bolts open.
A swarm of masked people get in. Fighting the guards.
Elijah.
No, no. Elijah is amongst the guards.Without any second thoughts, I quickly run up to him.
I don't even care what happens to me. I just want to protect him, like he's always done. One of the people I've fought, scratches me in the chin. Crrating a deep wound.
But someone holds me in my place.
"Fredrick let go of me" I say struggling to get out of his grip.
"September stop it! You'll get yourself hurt"
"Why do you care? Let me go" I bellowed.
"You want to go? Go" he scoffs while letting go of me and lending me a sword.
I take it and quickly scurry to the door.I manage to kill anyone who gets in my way. I don't care who. I just know it's not Elijah.
He's no where to be found.
I slightly panick. I find myself outside of the dining room, in an abandoned hallway.
"You fool." I hear someone hiss.
