"Oh I'm fighting" I reply to Elijah.
"Like hell you are" he moves closer and threatens.
"Why?"
"August they're looking for you" he shouts.
I'm certain the bile that's just reached to my stomach will spill out anytime now.
"The royal family?" I ask worried.
"Possibly not. There were no signs of a royal flag."
Ok, ok we're good. I start reassuring myself.
"But don't flatter yourself, they're just as strong" he says.
"I'm not hiding."
Amy is long gone by now, and it's just him and I.
"Baby, please?" He stokes a piece of my hair out of my face.
I nod, as I know damn well I can't say know when he does that.
"Thank you" He says in a whisper and kisses my forehead.
"Now go"⥞✦⥟
I hide in one isolated corner. I have the sword on me, but not my dagger. Immediately I start panicking.
But then I remember I used to play hide and seek here. I never in my life got caught hiding here, save my mother who knew me too well.
It's fine Augustine. I reassure myswlf. Think of it as a hide and seek game.
I take deep breaths.
There are also loads of skilled people fighting there for me. And if I were to be caught, I still have my sword. But I can't help it not think about the what ifs.I close my eyes as I hug my sword dearly.
I think of what might bring me peace. I think of Elijah. I think of Father. I think of Mother.Around six, mother and I were in the garden. I was wandering around, playing.
"Darling come here, I have something for you." She says while smiling.
She was wearing pants and a beautiful puff sleeved shirt. She never cared about other's opinions of her.
"Mm I love gifts" six years old me said, while I scurry to her.
Mother laughed in response as she opened the box in her hand.
"I want you to take care of this"
She opened the box. I gasp at the sight of the most beautiful necklace I've ever seen.
It was obviously my mother's favourite constellation. Corvus.
Oh, how stunning it is.
"Mother it's beautiful"
She places it on my neck. Still smiling, though this time I could see the tears pooling in her eyes.
"What's wrong"
"Nothing my love" she places a kiss on my foread.
"I want you to know, that I'll always love you, no matter what, I'll always love you" she said
I laughed and said "I know"
"Whenever you feel lost, look at the stars and cling to this necklace, ok my love?"
I nod in response.I cling to my necklace as she said and slowly open my eyes.
And there she is. Lovely as always.
She has the most gorgeous face. Porcelain brown skin. Round face. And beautiful brown eyes.
I almost forgot her beauty.
I thank the lords that I got to see her again. Even if it's just my imagination.
I smile at her and slowly go back to sleep.
