We take some tunnels and hallways that no one but those who know the place all too well would know of.
I've sheathed the sword to my back. I'm not sure I need it, but I have it
Leaving through a backdoor, we're greeted with a couple of soliders, horses and.... Fredrick.
I at the sight of him flip out. "What are you doing here?" I say
"Hello to you too." He says, "I would love to catch up, but we do not have time, quickly." He gestures to a carriage."No no, I'm not leaving until you tell me what is going on" I take my hand away from mother's grip, and cross them, wating for an answer.
What in the world is Fredrick doing with mother? Why is even mother alive? How?
Is he with us?
Who am I even with?
What do they want?
Why did she fake her death?
I have so many questions right now and I don't know how to feel.
A part of me is relived she's alive. I've been longing for this reunion.
But then why did she in the first place escape? Why did she leave her daughter for years just to appear out of nowhere someday? What's she up to?
Why are we leaving my friends behind? But at the end of the day, I knew one thing. And that is that my friends need me.
I've missed my mother deearly, but she made her choice years ago.
"I'm not coming with you guys!" As I position my back to them a firm hand gets hold of my wrist.
"Do you want to be locked up in that dungeon again?" He asks.
"Like hell I do"
I aggressively take my hand out of his grip.
"But I'm also not leaving my friends behind"
He scoffs, "like you have a choice"
Next thing I find myself in his arms.
I try and try to fight him, but goddamn it, he's way too strong. But then I remember I have a sword on me.
I unsheathe it and hold it up to his throat.
My hands quite fumbly, but I managed to do it.
"Let go of me" I grit out.
"Like old times, eh?" He laughs.
"Oh shut your mouth, I said let go of me"
But then someone else takes the sword from my hands.
"Augustine Kensworthy, stop being a child" mother says. "I'm your mother, God's sake. I won't let anyone hurt you or your friends." she then looks at Fredrick, "Now take her to the carriage."
At that I lose hope and stop trying. My mother is the sweetest, but she's also deadly when it comes to commands. I don't dare make any objections.
