Waverly POV
The next morning I woke up earlier than Nicole, I knew she had a day off so I let her sleep. I headed downstairs to get a glass of water when I got a shock. "Mama. What are you doing down here?"
"15 years in prison very little sleep. So how are you?" Mama asked.
"Getting there after yesterday." I replied.
"So you and Nicole how long has this been going on?" Mama asked.
"A little over than a year." I said giddy. "I was working as a barmaid at Shortys when Nicole came in and introduced herself, she flirted a bit and I sprayed beer all over my top and she helped me with it off." I looked up at Mama and I saw her eyebrows where raised. I smiled back.
"Do you already know you were into women?" Mama asked.
"No I was with Champ since high school, I was always so concerned with what everyone else thought. Until her with her I was finally happy." I explained with a smile. "She makes me feel like more than just a piece of meat. I love her."
"I'm happy for you sweetie." She said.
"Thanks Mama." I said with a smile. I got breakfast sorted for Nicole and I when she came into the kitchen. "Hey." I said giving her a peck on the cheek.
"Something smells good." Nicole said making me a cup of tea and her coffee.
"Breakfast. Want some?" I asked.
"Yes please." She replied kissing me on the forehead. We sat down and tucked in, a little while later Wynonna stumbled in and went straight for the coffee.
"Good morning Wynonna." I said.
"Do you need to be so loud?" She asked wincing from her hangover headache.
"Meds are in the cupboard." I said and she grabbed them. She swallowed two and then came and sat down with her coffee.
It was a while before Mama spoke up again. "So Christmas is in 10 days what are we doing." She asked. There was a moment pause before she continued. "Well how about Christmas dinner, I will even make a vegan version for you and your friend Jeremy, Waverly."
"Okay, it's been a while." Wynonna said.
"Alrighty then, I will help decorate the house but as I can't go into town someone will have to get some new stuff." She explained.
"I have some things at mine I could get, Mrs Gibson." Nicole said as she placed her hand on my back.
"Thank you Nicole." She said and smiled at Nicole. "Who else will be joining us for dinner. The cowboy Doc, you guys, Jeremy."
"Eh yeah that's everyone." Wynonna said.
We finished eating in silence. And as we finished Mama said. "Can you girls do the dishes as I want a word with Nicole." Nicole looked worried.
Nicole followed Mama into the living room and Wynonna and I started doing the dishes.
Nicole POV
"So Nicole. You and my youngest." Mrs Gibson said.
"Yes." I said a bit nervous.
"She loves you." She said smiling.
"I love her, more than anything." I said smiling as I thought of her. "If you're worried I am going to break her heart, don't be I am not Champ I'm not going to hurt her."
"Well then call me Michelle." She said.
