'What makes you think that would work?'

'Nik think about it, she wants to feel like she's above me clearly... so if I just give her a call, tell her that I want to let sleeping dogs lie and invite her out. We could have a girls day.' Astrid's change of attitude surprised him but he wasn't about to say no.

'Are you sure? Last time I checked it's a little hard for you to not despise Aurora with every fibre of your being.' Klaus took her shoulder and she smiled, 'It's called acting, darling. I've managed it before I can do it again.'

Klaus contemplated for a moment before grinning ear to ear. 'What?' She asked and he shook his head, amused, 'It's just good to see you and I working on the same side again instead off in separate corners.' Astrid smiled in contentment, 'You knew I was going to come back to your corner anyway love.' She walked past him to the drawings and noticed a particular one.

The thrones.

'I see you finally saw Freya's throne room premonition.' Astrid turned around and leant against the table with the picture in her hand, 'I'm still yet to see my own fate.' Klaus walked over to her, leaning against the table too and pursing his lips, 'I think it's coincidental really.'

'What is?'

'Even when we were children, I always thought that you would be able to decide exactly where you wanted to be in life. My siblings and I would be subjected to whatever my parents decided but you..' he looked up at the ceiling, 'You could have whatever your heart,' he looked back at Astrid, 'Desires.'

She smiled to herself, seeing an opportunity and turning in front of him. 'And yet..' she took his hands in hers, 'I still chose you.'

Astrid kissed Nik's cheek and noticed how flustered he grew from the PDA. She walked away, calling over her shoulder, 'Send me Aurora's number.'

'How did you know I have Aurora's number?'

'Because you're you. I'm gonna go and get pretty.'

'You'd look better than her in a garbage bag, darling.'

'Oh, I'm aware.' She leant against the chair on the other side of the dining table, 'But you know how extra I am.'

...

Astrid chose a navy blue bodysuit with a plunging neckline and leather trousers with a black trench coat. Standing in front of the mirror, she rung the number and placed it down on the dresser, putting it on speaker. After three rings, the red head picked up.

'Whoever this is-'

'Aurora darling, relax. It's only me.' Astrid grinned at how uptight she was. 'Astrid?' Aurora was in Jackson Square and frowned when the wife spoke, confused.

'I was wondering if we could have a chat love.' The brunette hummed and the vampire rolled her eyes, 'What so you could throw me around some more?'

'Hardly! You see.. I've come to recall since your return to my city how good friends we used to be. We have both had our struggles of course but I don't see why we can't let sleeping dogs lie.. let bygones be bygones etc etc.' The hybrid adjusted her trench coat collar and her old friend looked intrigued, 'We did used to make quite a mess didn't we?'

Astrid was overjoyed. Her plan was working.

'Shall we meet to discuss this reunion?' The redhead grinned and she replied, 'Why that was just what I was thinking! Why don't we meet at Rosseau's? It's my favourite bar and I'd love to show my old friend what I enjoy most about this city.'

...

'I'm gonna leave now, love.' Astrid called out and Nik replied from the dining room, 'I'll be joining you soon, leave your location on.'
