The hybrid wasn't stupid, replying gave Rayna the opportunity to kill her anyway. Sneaking behind the car, she used her hybrid senses to stake out her enemy, growing more frustrated when she realised Stefan was there too.

The shack in the distance housed Mr. Salvatore. The man was genuinely shaken, having just left his fiancé and now stuck in a different state. Rayna was standing in a clearing, waiting for Stefan to make his way out the shack before she pounced.

'Oh come on, Rayna.. pay attention to us instead ay?' Klaus chuckled and Astrid facepalmed, 'For godsake, Nik,'

Rayna jumped at the opportunity but Astrid was quicker, throwing herself at the hunter and landing on top of her, snapping her neck quickly as her husband idly walked out of the bushes.

'Stefan!' Astrid sounded irritated, her tone intimidating the vampire as he stepped into the open.

'I thought-'

'Shut up and get in the car.'

...

Weeks had passed since burying the red head Aurora and the husband and wife were enjoying their evening together while Stefan Salvatore got patched up in the other room. They were sitting opposite eachother in the dining room, discussing their city.

'The De Martel's are gone, darling and you eradicated them. You should be proud of yourself. Wipe away that scowl.' Nik hummed over a glass of red wine as she sat back in her chair, seemingly deep in thought.

'There's an energy in the air.'

The grandfather clock ticked in the corner of the room, each masochistic sound bringing the hybrid closer and closer to having to face her husband. She was reading a book named, Tombstone Voodoo Volume 1. It was about Baron Samedi and his wife Maman Brigitte.

Both gods handled the dead. Baron was a bold man, he loved rum and dirty jokes but he was also known for his infidelity.  Despite his betrayal, Brigitte stayed with him all the same. She couldn't help but recall her relationship with Nik, she should hate him right now but she couldn't.

She was just hoping he knew what he was doing.

Astrid sent Rebekah to Vincent and Davina so they could unlink Eva's body from the 8 children and Josephine, wanting her sister in law to be able to get back into the fight. Elijah had ran off in search of his brother, much to Astrid's better judgment who wanted to find him herself. A storm suddenly kicked off outside and she looked up from her page, just about to finish a chapter and start a new one. Standing up slowly, she looked confused at the velocity of the storm, it raged like her husband. She figured it was conveniently timed until she smelt charcoal and metal in the air and swiftly realised that it was no normal storm.

It was Dahlia.

'What does that mean?' He grew curious as she took another bite of gumbo.

'Charcoal. Metal.'

She stood up as it wafted over her senses but left quickly. Nik stood up too and paced over to her, 'Take me to it.'

Astrid stood up, following the scent but only getting closer to Niklaus. He frowned as she eventually stood next to his chair, leaning down into his neck and taking an inhale. Klaus's breath caught in his throat before he turned to her.

'Found it.' She almost whispered as he stood up alerted. 'Let me get Freya.'
