Lafayette Cemetery.

Kol had informed Astrid of Davina's burial out of good graces, the hybrid had arrived at the gates only to be stopped by Vincent who kept a stern eye as he dealt with her. 'I'm not sure it's a good idea you and Marcel stay in any distance of each other, Astrid.' He commented, practically implying that she wasn't wanted. The sun beat down on the streets of the Crescent City that day, the hybrid could feel her back heating up through her black shirt as she spoke.

'Just let me say goodbye to my kid, Vince.'

She sounded exhausted which made the Griffith sibling contemplate his recent choices in regards to the angry Mikaelson son that he had sided with.

'Brother.' Willow arrived on the scene, 'Let her through.'

Vincent submitted to his sister and Astrid entered just in time to overhear Marcel.

'Words aren't any good. The Mikaelsons need to answer for this. I'm gonna make them answer. I promise.'

Willow heard it too and took Astrid's arm, rubbing it as she came into view of her daughter's resting place and Marcel and Josh looked up. Josh looked between the two before getting nervous and stepping back. Marcel seemed to submit too, looking down at his feet before Elysium spoke, 'We'll give you two some room.'

As the rest of the funeral party left, Astrid glanced at the grave and sighed, 'I remember when you were that age.' She looked back at Marcel, 'So bright and full of life. You had this fire about you that not even Nik or I could control. I saw that same fire in Davina.'

'Don't lecture me-'

'Let me finish. Loosing her felt no different to loosing my own child. Now I have tried time and time again to balance the scales of this city and what you will not do Marcellus is make me feel guilty for something I had no part in.'

She was finally doing it. The barrier was building.

'I cannot excuse what my brother in law has done. I cannot excuse what Freya has done either however I will also not excuse being put in the centre of the situation I had no part in. Lucien was Nik's bloodline, not mine. I have done everything in my power to make you feel as if you're still part of my life yet you have pulled and pulled and now I simply have no choice but to let go. I am on your side Marcel.'

'I'm sorry.'

'No.' Astrid played the same cards he did the night before, 'Because what have you done if not try to take us down too? Was it not you who beckoned Mikael? The man you knew wanted Niklaus and I dead? Did you not plot to murder the both of us on multiple occasions? You're no different to us' She took his face in her hand.

'I raised you as my own. Perhaps I'm no better than Rosaline after all.'

At the mention of Astrid's mother, Marcel walked away from her and she stayed in that spot momentarily, processing the words that flew out of her mouth without reason before turning to Davina's plaque, somewhat hoping the little witch would hear.

'Davina you represent everything I have learned since 1919. All the friendship, the loyalty and the strength.. and I can't help but feel a void where you used to be, kid. I once told you I'd find my way back to you no matter what, no matter what circumstance we are on that promise still stands but this can be our little secret. I'm with you, D. Always and Forever.'
