After knowing that Hanji made you drink a potion of theirs to see what it could do which made you into a child, Mikasa freaked out and snapped at hanji, yelling at them on why they made you drink something like that.
Eventually, Mikasa calmed down when Hanji said that the effect wouldn't last long.
When Mikasa saw you as a child, she actually panicked because of how cute you were. She would try not to show it but her face is all flushed.
She took care of you while the effect lasted. Even though you didn't recognize her and got startled by everyone, she had managed to calm you down.
Believe it or not, Mikasa was acting like an actual mother whilst taking care of you. She really enjoyed taking care of you as a child that when you finally came back to normal, she became a little sad, but was also glad that you were back to your normal self.
And ever since, she never let you help Hanji with their experiments.
