Scenario Fifty Six: Coming Out

(A/n: So I made changes to this book and now the reader is gender neutral! Anyway, Happy Pride Month everyone!)

"You okay?" Mikasa asked, startling you and making you slightly jump. You turn to face her, seeing her look at you with concern.

You nod in response, "Of course I am, why?" "You're hiding something from me, aren't you?"

You stayed frozen, stunned by her question. Of course she always knew when there's something unusual going on and you wouldn't be surprised when she pointed out something about you.

But this time was different.

"Um, no. Why would I?" You answered rather a bit nervously, though you still tried to keep your composure.

Mikasa smiled and leaned in to kiss your cheek. "You're not a very good liar, love."

Your cheeks began heating up, and you look away.

You trust Mikasa with all your heart, but you were afraid that if she found out about what you were hiding from her, she would be disappointed in you.

"Tell me what's going on, (Y/n). It's okay." She continues, stroking your hair to relax you.

Mikasa always listens to her instincts, and you realized that you were a bit too obvious.

Taking a deep breath, you decided to tell her now. It was now or never, you thought.

"Well, I... What I wanted to tell you was that..." You stammered, making eye contact with her for a while before quickly looking away.

Mikasa keeps her gaze on you, waiting patiently.

"I-I'm... I'm _______." You finally confess, hesitantly looking at Mikasa. She looks at you with slight shock, but she also looked happy.

"I'm sorry..." You apologized, feeling more nervous.

"What are you apologizing for? That was very brave of you." She says, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I'm proud of you."

Pursing your lips, you quickly leaned in and hugged Mikasa. "So... You're not upset or anything... At me?" You asked, resting your head on her shoulder.

"Why would I be?" She answered, rubbing your back. "I'll always support you, (Y/n)."

You began smiling, "Thank you, Mika. You're the best." "And thank you for trusting me, (Y/n)."
