haha, this is finally done! after months of writing it, it's done! here we go!

about two months after chaeyoung told me she had feelings for me, i finally started to be able to believe her. it took a while, just because of how suddenly she seemed to change her mind, but she has done a lot of things recently that are making me believe her a little more.

the first big change is that she takes me out on a date every friday so we can spend more time together. it's a new thing every week, sometimes going to see a movie, sometimes dinner, but she tries really hard every time to make it fun and it warms my heart. at first it was a little awkward as we barely knew anything about each other but after a few dates we started to get along more easily.

i found quickly that my first opinions on her were right. she's a really sweet and friendly person, she has a great sense of humour and is able to make me laugh really easily, and most importantly, knows when to be serious and help me if i need it. every minute we spend together is making my feelings for her grow stronger and she says it's doing the same for her. it makes me feel really lucky.

i now love waking up in the mornings. where i used to dread the day to come having to deal with being married to someone who didn't love me back, now i get up with a smile on my face every day. and it's all thanks to the fact that there is another warm body waking up beside me, arms wrapped around my waist. we slept in the same bed even before we started "dating," as our apartment only has one bedroom, but now we actually sleep together. chaeyoung is like a koala at night; she loves to cuddle. sometimes i get too hot but i will never complain lest she stops. i'll never want her to stop.

this morning is no different. chaeyoung and i have nowhere to be for a while so there is no rush to get out of bed when i wake just past 8am. her entire body is wrapped around my own with her head buried in my shoulder, hot breath tickling my neck. again, it's a little uncomfortable but she's so cute when she sleeps that i don't want to bother her. especially when her lips are pursed in a pout, making her look like a little puppy. i want to kiss her so i shuffle down just a little on the bed and cup a hand on her cheek to bring her into a gentle kiss.

after only a few seconds, i feel her take in a deep breath then her lips part just a little as she begins to kiss me back. one of her hands snakes around to rest on my lower back but just as it slips under my pyjama shirt, i pull away to smile at her.

"good morning," i say.

"very good morning," she replies. "what was that kiss for?"

"just because you're cute."

she grins. "you're cute, too. want to kiss me again?"

"mm, you bet i do."

when we finally emerge from bed at just past 10, i receive a text from my best friend joy inviting me to hang out with her and our mutual friends for the day. i immediately agree, having missed them after not seeing them for a while, but ask if i can bring chaeyoung along with me.

it's a long story but we're trying to make our relationship work so i want her to meet everyone.

oh, then, of course! we all want to meet her!

i let chaeyoung know and 20 minutes later we're in my car on the way to joy and her boyfriend's apartment.

"do you think they'll like me?" chaeyoung asks. i turn my head to look at her and give her a gentle smile as i take one of her hands in mine.

"they'll love you, chae," i say. "just...try not to be too upset if they ask questions in a not-so-friendly way, okay? all they know about you is from what i've told them and that's when we weren't in a good place. whatever they might say is not how i feel anymore."

chaeyoung looks nervous at that but nods and gives me what i think is meant to be a reassuring smile.

"i'll be okay," she says.

"let me know if you aren't and we can leave."

her smile becomes more real at that. "okay, thank you."

when we get to joy and chanyeol's building, chaeyoung laces her fingers with mine and i lead her to the right apartment. i enter without knocking as normal and grin when i see joy sitting on the couch. she turns her head towards us and her own grin appears as she runs over to pull me into a hug.

"(y/n)! it's been so long!" she says.

"it has," i agree. "how are you doing?"

"i'm great! how are you?"

"me, too. chae and i have been enjoying our time together."

joy pulls away from the hug and gives chaeyoung a friendly smile.

"hi, chaeyoung! it's nice to finally meet you," she says, pulling chaeyoung in for a quick hug.

"it's nice to meet you, too. (y/n)'s told me a lot about you," chaeyoung says.

"don't believe a single word she says, it's probably all lies."

chaeyoung giggles while i roll my eyes at joy.

"i'd never lie about how awful you are," i say. joy scoffs but links her arm with mine and drags me and chaeyoung into the living room. i greet our other friends then chaeyoung and i sit on the love seat.

"so, tell us everything that's happened between you two," joy says as she settles under chanyeol's arm.

not wanting to go into all of the details, i tell them the simple version that we realized we have feelings for each other and want to explore our relationship. luckily we don't get asked too many questions and they all seem to accept it pretty easily. i can tell that chaeyoung is relieved when she relaxes against my side and in turn it makes me feel relieved. i give joy a grateful smile when our eyes meet and she winks at me before asking chaeyoung questions to get to know her more.

we hang out there for a few hours until chanyeol and joy end up kicking everyone out for "none of your business, just get out" reasons. chaeyoung and i head back to our apartment and once there, she plops herself down on my lap on the couch.

"thank you for taking me to meet your friends," she says.

"did you have fun?" i ask, wrapping my arms around her waist.

"i did. they all seem really nice."

"they are. except joy, she sucks."

chaeyoung scoffs and playfully smacks my shoulder.

"shut up, she's your best friend," she says.

"yeah, whatever. i'm glad you got along with everyone, though. it was really important to me."

"oh yeah?" she asks teasingly. "why? you like me or something?"

"i mean, you're alright i guess."

"you're alright, too. maybe i'd like you more if you make out with me right now, though."

"hmm...i think i could do that."

chaeyoung gives me a cheeky grin before leaning in and pulling me into a kiss. i sigh happily into her lips as i flip her down onto the couch beneath me. enjoying the way her lips mold perfectly with mine, it once again hits me how lucky i am that she realized her feelings for me. i will never regret trusting her.
