im really sorry for not updating in a long time. i've been exhausted and busy and not motivated to write. i wanted to get this one out, though, so i forced myself to push through. i hope you guys like it <3 i will start requests soon!

also (y/n) and rosie have been together for like 6 months or so in this, idk, not too long but like more than a couple months.

since rosie found out a few months ago that my birthday was coming up, she's been unnecessarily excited. i've tried to tell her multiple times that i don't need a big celebration, i would be happy to just spend the day with her and relax, but she refused to hear it. she wanted to give me a big surprise and nothing i said could dissuade her.

the morning of my birthday is amazing. rosie woke me up with breakfast in bed, which i devoured because it was so delicious, before letting me have a second course, if you know what i mean. when we finally pull ourselves out of bed it's almost midday and the rest of the blackpink members are set to arrive in about half an hour for a mini lunch celebration. rosie and i manage to have a quick shower and just as we finish getting dressed there's a knock on the door. after pressing a quick kiss on my lips rosie leaves her bedroom to let the other girls in and give me some more time to get ready.

once i've dried my hair and finished applying my every day simple makeup, i head out to the living room to see the four blackpink members whispering amongst themselves. i catch the tail end of what jennie is whispering to rosie, something like 'you've got this', before rosie sees me and pulls back from the girls. i think she notices the curious look on my face because she immediately breaks out into a huge grin and throws her arms out.

"there's my beautiful birthday girl," she says, running over to wrap me up in her arms. i'm still curious as to what they were talking about but rosie's cuteness ploy works and my curiosity is pushed to the back of my mind for the time being.

"let the girl breathe," lisa teases, walking over to us and pushing rosie's arms off me to give me a hug. "happy birthday."

"thank you," i reply. i hug jennie and jisoo after then drop down on the couch next to rosie.

"so, what's the plan for today?" jennie asks as rosie drapes an arm over me.

"nothing special," i say. "right, babe?"

i give rosie a warning look and she just chuckles.

"we'll see," she replies cryptically.

"i don't want anything too special," i tell the other girls. "i told rosie i'd be good with just spending time with her and you guys but she still insisted on planning something she won't tell me about."

"oh, we know," jennie laughs.

"rosie's told us all about her plan," jisoo adds when i give jennie a confused look.

"is that what you were talking about when i walked out?" i ask. when jisoo nods i get a wave of worry rush over me. from what i heard it could be anything, but it's obviously something big for jennie to wish rosie luck. the possibilities are endless and one is absolutely terrifying. all i can do is hope it's not that, i'm nowhere near ready.

sensing i'm thinking hard over something, rosie squeezes her arm over my shoulder and leans in to kiss my cheek.

"(y/n) has no need to worry, though, right girls?" she says, looking at me pointedly.

"right," the other three chorus, lisa adding, "it's nothing bad."

that's not what i'm worried about...

"how much longer do i have to wait," i ask rosie.

"a bit longer, it's something just for the two of us," she says, lifting a hand to brush a strand of hair off my cheek. well, that doesn't narrow it down.
