this is a part two of the previous imagine and it's from rosie's POV because someone asksd for that :)

since giving birth to minji almost 6 years ago, rosie has not been on one single date. she's tried, don't get her wrong, but the second she brings up the fact that she has a daughter the other person always gets scared off. it hurts when it happens but at this point rosie has come to expect it so she tries not to let it get her down. she just tries to hold out until she finds someone who will accept her and minji.

and now it looks like she has. ever since she met (y/n) almost a week ago, they've been texting pretty much non-stop. most of it has just been small talk and getting to know each other a little more but yesterday rosie finally worked up the courage enough to ask (y/n) on a date. to her joy she agrees and they make a plan for the next day for (y/n) to come over to rosie's and minji's apartment and have a movie/dinner date. usually rosie wouldn't have her date come over to her apartment and spend time with minji immediately but as (y/n) and her daughter have already met, and they seem to get along, it seems like the best idea.

so, here rosie is, 5pm friday evening, waiting for (y/n) to arrive. she's extremely nervous just because it's been so long since she's been on a date and obviously her ever perspective daughter picks up on it.

"why are you scared, mommy?" she asks. rosie pushes a smile onto her face and crouches down until she's level with minji, reaching out to stroke her hair.

"i'm not scared, baby, just a little nervous for (y/n) to get here," she says.

"you don't have to be nervy! (y/n) is nice, remember!"

rosie grins naturally at that and leans in to press a kiss on minji's forehead.

"you're right, baby, she is nice. i'm glad you think so," she says. just as she stands back up her doorbell rings and she feels her heart begin to pound impossibly faster in her chest. she takes a quick look at minji who grins at her in encouragement then heads towards the door, taking deep breaths as she does. she opens the door and very quickly all of her nerves fly out when she lays her eyes on (y/n). she looks so pretty and when she gives rosie a gentle smile, her heart leaps into her throat.

"hi," (y/n) says.

"hi," rosie replies. "you look so pretty."

"thank you," (y/n) says, cheeks blushing a light pink. "so do you."

now it's rosie's turn to blush. "thank you. please, come in."

she steps aside to let (y/n) in and that's when minji makes her appearance.

"hi (y/n)!" she says. (y/n)'s smile widens as she bends down to be eye-level with minji.

"hey minji, how are you?" she asks.

"i'm good!" minji says. "mommy was really nervy for you to show up though."

(y/n) turns to look at rosie, giggling, making rosie blush a deep red and look away in embarrassment.

"thank you for that, minji," rosie mumbles. "why don't you go and wash up to help with dinner?"

minji runs off to the bathroom, leaving (y/n) and rosie alone in the entranceway.

"you don't have to be embarrassed, i was nervous for tonight, too," (y/n) says, smiling reassuringly at rosie. that makes rosie feel a little better so she lets out a breath of relief and smiles.

"come in, we can start making the pizzas now," she says. she leads (y/n) into the kitchen where she hands her an apron so she doesn't mess up her pretty dress.

"how have you been? how's minji been?" (y/n) asks with a tone of genuine curiosity that makes rosie's stomach feel light. it feels so nice to have her date care about her daughter too.
