Earned Trust

chapter 3

"So, you're supposed to babysit me now?" Loki chuckled and looked at you behind his book while you walked back on the couch. You huffed and rolled your eyes as you lied down on the couch, still keeping your eyes at him.

You were not gonna turn your back on him, you didn't trust him that much.

You ignored his stupid grinning while he sipped his tea and you sighed very, very heavily.

Why they had to leave you with him alone?

After several minutes of silence, Loki took his eyes off of his book and looked at you again, curiously.
"So, you're in the wolf form because you or should I say your wolf doesn't trust me?" he asked. You lifted your head up and nodded carefully, wondering what he was up to.
"Well.. what can I do to earn its trust?"

You huffed and rolled your eyes in reply, and leaned your head again against your paws.

He had to understand that earning a werewolf's trust weren't that easy. Nobody in the team hadn't even done it yet.
Well of course you trusted them into some point, but not with your life. Werewolves were extremely suspicious with others and earning their full trust was something very rare.

"Seems like it's very hard then?" he sighed and sipped his tea while you looked very carefully from aside his every move. And Loki noticed that and then he gave a look at his tea.
"Interested to taste?" he smirked and handed closer his cup. You looked at it and took a sniff, it smelled like herbal tea.
But then you huffed and turned your head further from it while Loki looked amused by your reaction.
"Not that then.." he said and settled his cup and book down on the table.
"What about we eat something? I'm quite hungry, and I assume you won't let me go alone?" he suggested and looked at you innocently smirking.

Then without you having a time to react to his suggestion, he stood up and headed to the elevator. You rolled your eyes in annoyance and quickly jumped down from the couch and followed him in there. You had made your promise to keep your eyes on him, so you didn't have much other choice.

Loki looked satisfied when you had to follow him in there. He clearly had noticed you were pretty annoyed by his company.

The door slid open and you stepped in the dining room, you led him into the kitchen, still keeping your eyes at him and making sure you didn't turn your back at him.

Gosh your wolf was so mistrustful.

You let him search some food while you kept your eyes at him. You followed his every single move and made sure he wasn't going to do any suspicious actions.
Loki opened one of the cabinets and grabbed a pack of Eggo's. He grinned at you and opened it.
You both knew they were Thor's favorites and he was going to kill Loki if he finds out.

Loki looked little disgusted again when he pulled out the waffle and looked at it curiously.
"My brother eats these? Seriously?" he snarled and put one in the toaster.
"You want one?" he asked and looked at you. You shook your head, you weren't going to die in the hands of an angry god.

"Your loss, little wolf." he smirked and threw the package back into the cabinet.
You growled back at him, showing your sharp wolf teeth. Loki just chuckled at that.

You were back in the common room with Loki, and you had been watching him while he was reading for several hours before the team finally arrived. It was almost evening and they all looked very exhausted and injured.
You lifted your head and saw Clint and Steve, carrying Nat from her arms. The others followed them inside and they all were covered in little bruises, except Thor.

They carried Nat on the chair next to the couch and rest of them sat down too with heavy sighs following each one of them.
You stood up and looked at them concerned.
"Don't worry, we're okay." Steve said and looked at Nat who clearly was in pain. She had a dagger in her side.

"We just got little surprised.." Nat huffed and held her wound with her hand.
You hated to watch her in pain, the whole team hated, but you knew they had to wait until Bruce was feeling little better. Turning into Hulk and back wasn't that easy to him as turning into a wolf to you.

You jumped down on the couch and walked over to Nat. You leaned your head against her hand and you felt her pain. And then, you started to take it in you.

You had the ability to make people's pain easier by touching them. You could do it in wolf and human form, it didn't matter which one you were.
You didn't use that ability often, because you had to suck the pain in you and it was sometimes very exhausting. Based on how much in pain the person was.

Nat's pain started to disappear and you could even see it from her face. She relaxed and started to feel better quickly.

"Thank you.." she said as you lifted your head up again after you had eased her pain enough.
You huffed and walked back to the couch. She hadn't been so much in pain that it would had exhausted you badly.

And then once again you were amused as you noticed that Loki was only one who looked little stunned and amazed by your actions. Everybody else were already used to see that but he clearly hadn't seen anything like it before.

It was a beautiful silent morning, until you heard a terrible yelling from downstairs, right from the kitchen's direction.

"WHO IN THE HELL HAD EATEN MY WAFFLES?!" Thor roared. He was so pissed off that his roaring echoed through the whole building.
First you thought that it was nothing to worry about (after all, you weren't the one who had eaten them), but when you heard a sound of a smashed plate, it made you stood up from the couch and rush downstairs.

"Thor calm down, it's just damn waffles!" you heard Tony grumbling at him in the kitchen. You ran there and saw Thor, pissed off and one broken plate on the floor. Probably thrown by Thor.

"Y/N?" Tony looked at you little stunned. You raised your eyebrow at his reaction.
"What?" you asked, you had no idea why he looked so stunned. Thor had turned to look at you too and he was amazed as well.
"You've already shifted back!" Thor said, now more calmly because he had probably forget about those waffles for awhile.

You looked at your hands and were little surprised that you hadn't even noticed it. It was so usual to you to be in wolf or human form that you hadn't even noticed that you had shifted back during the night.

"Oh yeah, looks like I had." you said in little amuse. You were also wondering how on earth your wolf had decided to shift back that fast, last time it took almost a whole week.
"When did it happen?" Tony asked and leaned down to pick up the pieces of the smashed plate.
"During the night I guess. I didn't do it myself, it was my wolf." you replied and shrugged.

"To be honest, I had thought it would take a little bit longer when it comes to my brother." Thor laughed a little. You just huffed and walked over to him.

"So was here some kind of a problem?" you asked and looked around you, turning the conversation away from you.
"Someone ate my waffles." Thor grumbled then, looking into the empty package at the same time.
"And you decided to break some stuff because of it?" you asked amused and looked at the floor and Tony, who was still picking up the pieces.
"That sparkling waffle lover just got little angry.." Tony murmured and stood up to throw the pieces away.

"Well excuse me if I want to eat my favorite waffles for breakfast and then I found out that some oaf had already eaten them!" Thor started to lose it again. He really couldn't stand the loss of his waffles.
"What about we go to store and buy you new ones?" you suggested, you really couldn't stand his rage right now.
Thor looked first like he was going to protest, but then he sighed heavily and clearly tried to calm down, he really didn't want to yell at you.
"Fine.." Thor murmured and threw the package away, almost hitting Tony with it.
"But I'm gonna find out who did it.."

You didn't say a thing about who ate those waffles, you liked to tease Thor, and seeing him so upset just because of his food, was amusing you.

"Bring some more groceries while you two are in town, our fridge is empty." Tony ordered while you were leaving with Thor to the elevator to get some Eggo's to this poor little god.
