You ate as fast as you could so you could get out of there. You didn't want to be unprotected, and now you really felt like it.

After you had finished your meal, you stood up slowly and walked back to the kitchen, and handed the plate to Nat who was already there doing the dishes.

It was pretty strange and annoying when you noticed that Loki was again following your every action while you were there with him.

What was so interesting about you that he had to watch you all the time?

"We're going to train after this, you wanna come watch?" Nat asked as she took the plate from your hands.
"No, I think I just go to my room and rest." you replied, sounding terribly exhausted. Nat nodded and gave you a warm kind smile in return.

You spend several hours lying on your couch and trying to relax. Nothing felt good, it was too hot and your headache only got more worse and worse. You really hated these days the most. Feeling of exhaustion and being fragile wasn't your thing. And your wolf was gone, for the whole day.

Your room got even hotter the more time you spent in there. You had to get up and get some ice from downstairs. You thought that it might help a little.

You got up and slouched back to the kitchen. You look behind every corridor and made sure no one was going to harm you.
When you got into the kitchen, you walked straight to the freezer and took some ice into a bag. You placed it behind your neck and the feeling of cold ran through your body. It felt so good.

You were glad that no one had been in there at the same time (for once), and you didn't have to listen to their concerned questions.

You took the bag with you as you walked back to the elevator. But instead of going back to your room, you decided to go to the library. Your room was obviously too hot to handle right now and you were pretty bored too. And because you couldn't get sleep, you decided to relax and read a little.

You sat on the couch and were happy that almost no one were interested to visit there.

Just you and your loneliness.

Or not..

After a few hours, you heard someone coming to your direction. Even though you didn't have your wolf, you still had your extremely good senses.
You turned around in fear that someone was going to hurt you.
Were you in danger?

Then smell of frost and mint entered to the room and you saw Loki, and a book in his hands.
You watched carefully as he walked over to the shelfs, and without even noticing you, he grabbed another and placed the old one back.

He looked up and looked little surprised as he saw you.
Loki walked closer as you backed off, little further from him. He noticed it and stopped right there.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you." he said gently and looked at you warmly with his green eyes. You didn't reply and just looked down, you weren't on the mood of talking. Besides, you were feeling very uncomfortable and unsafe right now.
"You were more confident when you were in your wolf form, which tells me that you don't.. trust me." Loki added. But something with his last words got you curious. He sounded like it was hard him to talk about 'trust'.

But who you were to judge, even you didn't trust anyone but yourself.

You lifted your head back up and looked at Loki curiously wondering. You still didn't wanna talk to him though.
Then you gave a look at the book in his hands and he noticed it too.
"I thought that you wouldn't mind if I borrow this... or the other one." Loki mumbled and looked at the book. He seemed to like reading, but clearly didn't own much of books.
You shook your head in reply, letting him know that it didn't bother you at all. There were lots of books, you didn't need them all at once.

Then Loki took slowly few steps towards you, trying not to scare you.
"Do you mind if I join you? I promise I won't hurt you." he said softly and pointed at the empty seat on the other side of the couch.
You didn't want him to stay and you were going to say it..

.. if your wolf wouldn't have been faster.

You nodded for your surprise and were stunned that you actually just had done that.
Loki smiled gently and sat down on the other side.

/Now you show up? What the hell is wrong with you?/ you said to your wolf in your mind.

You had no idea why your wolf had done that. She was supposed to protect you, not let him close. This was something you needed to deal with her later.

After a while, all sudden, your fever started to get worse and you felt too tired to even stay awake.
You flinched couple of times as you almost had fallen asleep.
"Are you alright?" Loki asked, noticing your condition. He actually looked a little worried.
"I'm fine..." you mumbled and held your forehead.
Loki put his book down and tried to come closer to help, but you dodged him. You had thought that he was going to hurt you.
"It's okay, let me help." he said gently, but he backed further just in case.

You shook your head and tried to get up, which you managed to do, but then you almost fell.
But Loki was fast and he caught you in his arms before you could.
"Alright little wolf, we are going to rest now." he said firmly but with gentle and caring tone in his voice. You tried to resist, but he was too strong for your nonexistent wolf powers. You were absolutely too tired to fight back, so he lifted you up on his arms and started to carry you away.
You even tried to growl at him, but you were too tired to that as well.

"You're burning hot." Loki said as he walked inside the elevator. And right then suddenly, you felt cold underneath you, just like it was coming from Loki. He felt so chilly that it instantly made you feel better and you actually felt like you would've liked to curl up against his cold chest.

But you still were too tired so you had to keep your eyes closed and let him take you to your room.

Loki carried you into your room and walked over to your bed.
"No..." you mumbled as he was settling you down. Loki looked at you confused and lifted you back up.
"To the couch.." you said, your fever were now more high than ever in many months before.

Loki was little stunned, but he still did as you told him and carried you onto your couch.
You hardly ever slept in your bed, especially in those few days before full moon.

He settled you down carefully and even gave you a pillow under your head. He looked at you little worried again.
"I have to admit, I don't know lot about werewolves." he gave a laugh. "Is there something I can do for your good?"
You shook your head and managed to open your eyes a little again.
"I just.. need some rest." you said and looked at Loki before your eyes closed again. You just wanted him to leave.
"Let me get you something cold for your fever. It might help." he said and before you could answer on that and tell him not to, he stood up and left your room.

Why he was helping you?
