It felt great, running in the woods, letting your wolf take over and howling the moon whenever you felt like it. This year had been rough while you had tried your best to learn how to live among humans. It had been harder than you had thought, they don't do things like you normally would. They don't run in the woods, they don't hunt and they definitely don't have four legs and black fur. If you really think about it, you have started to miss a company of a wolf. The team didn't get you at all, they don't know the difference between you and them. Loki was the only one closest to understanding you and your wolf, but it wasn't much.

You stopped after miles of running to catch a breath. You actually didn't need to do that but you felt like you wanted to feel the moment, before that team of yours would take it away from you as soon as they'll find out.
You glanced up on the sky. It was way past of midnight and you would still have plenty of hours before you needed to head back to others.
You walked around the woods, observing the area. But your eyes got stuck to the dark bump in the middle of the little meadow surrounded by the trees. You walked slowly closer, only to discover that it was something or more likely someone lying very still on the ground. And then your eyes widened as you walked over to the lying creature.
/Warren?/ you gasped and tried to poke him gently with your nose. He moved a little and before he opened his eyes, you had already discovered his bruises and wounds all over his body.
/Y/N?/ he snarled. His lungs were out of air, he could barely move and you sensed his pain.
/What happened to you?/ you asked concerned and confused. His wounds were deep and he had lost too much blood. Only someone very strong and powerful being could cause something like this, but who could it..
/The alpha/ you said as you realized it finally.
/Yes, and I need to.. need to tell you.. something/ Warren tried to catch his breath, but he was running out of time and you felt it.
/Why? Why he did this?/ you interrupted and tried to help him back up on his feet, without a success.
/Y/N, you need to.. listen, please./ he begged with the pieces of the strength he had left. But you couldn't, you wanted him to survive. You wanted to help him. He had been your friend once, after all.
/Shut up, I'm gonna get you out of here./ you said and tried to help him back up again, but he still couldn't move. He didn't have the strength anymore.
/No you shut up Lilith!/ he growled. You turned your yellow wolf eyes at him, wanting to punch him for calling you that.
/I need to warn you... you're in... great danger. I know where those werewolves came from... Y/N.. they are..../ but then, all sudden, his wolf have drained all the power he had saved to keep him alive.
His eyes stopped glowing as he took his final breath and you heard his heart taking its one last beat before it stopped.
/Warren?? No.. No you can't die like this..!/ your voice started to break. You poked him several times on his chest with your nose, but not getting a response back. You knew he was dead, but you didn't want to believe it. You had known him since you two were only just two little puppies.

You knelt down on your front legs and laid your head gently on his soft brown fur. One single teardrop rolled down your cheek as you closed your eyes, still hoping to feel his heartbeat even once. You didn't want to believe that the alpha had killed another wolf so close to you. It was so wrong and you felt the anger starting to run through your veins as you gave it more space in your thoughts.

Then you stood back up and glanced down at your old friend. And after taking a one deep breath, you bent your neck backwards and howled from the bottom of your lungs. It was werewolf's way to honor the fallen.
/Don't worry, I'll make sure you will get your peace./ you told him as you laid next to his cold and lifeless body, while you tried your best to not let more tears escape from the corner of your eyes.

You had already changed your forms as you were walking towards the Avengers Tower. You were all the way covered in mud after burying Warren into the woods, near to the lake you had found.

You slouched up the stairs, tired as hell and ready to tear open all the throats of those who dared to annoy you.

"Y/N?! Where in the hell have you been?" Tony asked as you walked into the kitchen to announce that you had finally returned.
"I think we all know where Y/N have been. Why couldn't you just listen us for once? We all agreed that you should stay." Steve said as he walked over to you. He looked worried but also disappointed.
"I never agreed, besides I'm not on the mood for fighting so could you please just shut up." you growled. You usually weren't this rude, but you had just lost someone and it really made your blood boil, without forgetting how a one big mess your emotions were at the time.
"Shut up?" Tony repeated while he glanced at Nat to make sure he heard right. "Y/N it was dangerous to leave! You could have been safe here with us in-"
"In your stupid cell, I know. But no thanks I am certainly not interested to be locked up like a beast." you grumbled at him. Your wolf was being protective again but this time you weren't interested to stop her.

"Maybe we should all just calm down." Nat interrupted but she didn't quite get the response she had hoped for.
"We understand your feelings, but it would've been just for your safety.. and ours." Steve admitted with a one big heavy sigh following afterwards. "At least tell us you're not hurt."

"I'm fine, and I didn't meet the pack if that was your first concern." you replied then.
"She looks more dirty than hurt. What were you doing all night? Burying a bone?" Tony huffed and sipped his coffee with a big smirk on his lips. But you didn't find it as funny as he might had. And that made you clench your fists as you glared at him.
"A wolf, Tony. I buried a wolf." you replied and the smirk on his face disappeared into the air. Steve and Nat also looked at you with stunned looks on their faces.
"You.. what?" Tony asked as you turned around, wanting to leave as you started to feel more anxious. "Hey wait-"
"Leave it Stark." Nat said. She knew when was better to leave you alone, she always has. "I know what to do.."

You had buried yourself into the corner of your couch. You hadn't done anything but just stared into nothing these past two hours. You couldn't stop thinking about Warren and his last words, nor the alpha and the reason he had killed one of his most loyal wolves of the pack. Or almost most loyal.
You also didn't know how to feel about the fact that the wolf you had known for your whole life had just died, right in front of you. Just like your father had. You thought you had hated him enough to not feel like this, but maybe you had been wrong. Maybe he had meant to you more than you had realized.

But then your thoughts of revenge were interrupted by someone knocking on your door. You just growled in reply as the door opened and tall, black haired god, stood on your doorway.
"You're back, little wolf." Loki said as he took one careful step forwards. You glanced at his foot which had crossed the doorway into your room. "I know this is your territory, but don't you think you owe me this since I helped you out?" he asked and raised his eyebrows, but you just sighed and looked away.
Loki clearly took it as a yes as he walked in and closed your door.

Then he carefully walked over to you and sat on the couch next to you. His each move was careful and slow, like he was preparing for  you to bite him.

"What happened?" he asked while you tried your best to hide the pain on your face.
