Earned Trust

chapter 25

"Everyone suit up, we're leaving." Cap announced as he stepped out of the elevator into the common room. He was already in his suit.

"Finally, some action." Clint grinned at Natasha who just shook her head in amusement. But you agreed with him. You had been waiting for this since yesterday, when Steve had given his permission to you and Loki to join the team on missions.
"Two minutes, meet me on the roof." Steve said before he vanished back into the elevator and you and the others went to prepare yourselves.

You rushed into your room and put your suit on. You didn't have anything else besides two daggers hanging on your waist since you usually just used your claws and fangs.

Then you headed to the stairs to get on the roof and you got some company as well. Loki had just appeared next to you out of nowhere and that had made you flinch pretty badly.
"Well, what's the plan?" he asked.
"I don't know." you replied.
"I think you should. I mean, what are you going to do when you find those wolves?" he asked.
"If I find the wolves. Didn't you listen when Cap said that they haven't seen them for a while?" you said in frustration.
"Or mr America is just stupid." Loki said and you raised an eyebrow at that. You weren't sure what he meant.

Then you both got on the jet where everyone else were already.

"Alright let's go." Steve told Nat, who was going to fly you to your destination. Meanwhile you sat down next to Clint, who was sitting with Thor and Loki on his other side.
"Excited?" Clint asked after the jet had got into the air.
"Relieved." you replied. He looked at you with confused look on his face and you knew you had to explain yourself. "I don't have to get bored in the tower anymore while babysitting a grown-up."
Clint and Thor laughed and you felt Loki's glaring from the other side of the boys.
"I totally understand you Y/N, my brother had always been pain in my ass." Thor grinned.
"You aren't so easy either." Loki huffed and they continued arguing, and they wouldn't have stopped if Steve hadn't got between them.

"Alright we're here." Nat announced as she landed the jet on the roof of the big building, which was literally in the middle of nowhere.
"What are we looking for?" Tony asked when you were walking out of the jet.
"This building is Hydra's old base, and someone has taken it for reuse." Steve replied. "And we also need to proceed with caution." he added as he broke the lock.

"And what meaning Hydra had for this base?" Clint asked and he sounded oddly concerned.
"Human experiments." Bruce answered through your earphones. He was still in the jet, waiting for possible code green.
"That doesn't sound very nice." Clint replied and you saw the looks on your teammates faces. None of them, including you had a good feeling of this place.

On your way down, you knocked out some guards. Your plan was to surprise them so you needed to proceed as quietly as possible. That was easy especially for Clint and Natasha, who were pretty good agents, and you, because you were used to move quietly in the woods. But others, especially Thor and Loki, had some difficulties with it.

"Brilliant, only one guard left! I can take him." Thor 'whispered' and began to walk towards the guard behind the corner.
"No Thor, wait!" Steve tried to shout after him as quietly as possible, but it was already too late. Tony hadn't had enough time to secure the area and when Thor pinned the guard against the wall, the alarms went on. He looked stunned at first, but then he realized that there had been lots of other guards as well. And of course he had missed them because he hadn't waited long enough.

"Why is it always you Point break?" Tony grumbled as you all tried to fight the guards together.

And somehow during that mess Thor had caused you, you all got separated. You were on a hallway trying to knock out the guard who had jumped on your back and now he was trying to choke you.
But then all sudden, you heard a gunshot and the guard just stopped and collapsed on the floor. You looked at your right and you saw Nat, in the room sitting on the floor, her hand covered in blood while she was holding her stomach. You rushed over to her immediately and knelt down to look at the damage.
"Nat what happened?" you asked.
"They're... here." she whispered, her voice sounding very painful. You frowned first, but then you realized as you looked at her wounds. They hadn't come from bullets or knives, they'd come from claws.
