*Sequel to: One More Gone and One More Try*
It had been seven months since Hiccup and Astrid lost their first child, the devastation haunting them day after day. But now, the couple, as well as the whole village, was bursting with happiness. After giving it one more try, Hiccup and Astrid were successfully able to produce another heir for the throne, but Astrid had to go through an exciting yet horrifying stage before the baby came: pregnancy.
Astrid had learned two weeks before that she had been pregnant for two months. The Haddock family was absolutely ecstatic to welcome a new Haddock into the world, but they just hoped that the baby would actually live to see the world this time.
Astrid Haddock sat in a chair by the fireplace, rubbing her small yet seemingly noticeable baby bump. She smiled. This baby was already bringing so much happiness and joy into her life, and it was only a matter of time until the child arrived into the world.
"Evenin', M'lady," Hiccup greeted as he made his way downstairs. He had returned from his chiefing a few minutes before, and he had went upstairs to get into some more comfortable clothes so that he could rest and enjoy some time with his wife. He missed seeing his divine beauty every day. Chiefing took up the majority of his time, so he had limited time with his family and friends.
"Hey, Babe," Astrid replied back softly, watching as Hiccup made his way down the stairs from the loft. As he approached his wife, he placed a swift kiss on her cheek before sitting down beside her and gently rubbing her back and placing his free hand on her stomach, smiling as he felt soft kicks.
"How are you feeling? Do you still feel sick much during the day?"
"It's getting a bit better," Astrid answered, "but other days I feel worse than a Berkian with Eel Pox."
Hiccup frowned at his wife's response. He hated hearing that his love felt so bad, and that he didn't have enough time to look after her. This stage of life should be a time of joy, yet it just seemed like things were taking their toll on both Hiccup and Astrid.
"Hey," Astrid spoke, breaking the silence. She had noticed the worry and guilt that had crossed Hiccup's face, and she immediately tried to turn the situation around. "No one said this was gonna be easy, but it will all be worth it in the end. I have a feeling this one's gonna make it."
"How do you know?" Hiccup asked, raising an eyebrow questioningly.
"I'm trusting my gut."
"Or maybe it's just the baby kicking your stomach?"
Astrid laughed and rolled her eyes at Hiccup's statement. "That's not what I meant."
"I know," Hiccup said with a chuckle, placing another kiss to his wife's cheek. "I think this one's going to make it, too."

Eh, I was going to make this longer, but I just decided to end it here. Maybe I'll make another one shot with stories just of Astrid's pregnancy, who knows?
