The newlyweds, Hiccup and Astrid, had just arrived back from their one week honeymoon. Hiccup was helping Astrid carry some of her belongings into his home, now their home, and he wanted to make sure that she was settled in.

Since Valka was back on Berk, she shared her house with Hiccup, the same one she had lived in with her late husband Stoick several years back. She too offered some help in the moving process. She was extremely elated to have her daughter-in-law move in. Valka absolutely adored Astrid, just like Stoick did. Except the only difference is that she didn't contsantly tell them she wanted grandbabies. If Valka found out that Stoick actually pressured Hiccup a bit because of that matter, she would give him a stern talking to. He was gone though, but at least Valka wouldn't have a chance of getting onto him. Maybe she'd reprimand him once she made it to Valhalla.

"Here, Mom, I'll take those," Hiccup said, gently grabbing a few clothes chests from Valka's hands. "I'll bring them up to Astrid; she doesn't have much."

Valka smiled at her son as he walked upstairs to the loft bedroom, thinking about how great of an example he was. Sure, he could be stupid and reckless at times (classic Hiccup), but he was no doubt a gentleman and had a kind heart.

"Okay, I think that's it, M'lady," Hiccup spoke to Astrid as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. The two of them just stared at the room for a while, taking everything in. "Welcome home." And with that, Hiccup placed a swift kiss on Astrid's hair.

"Oh, stop it!" Astrid giggled. Her cheeks were slowly turning a crimson red. Although Hiccup and Astrid were very affectionate towards each other, she still got butterflies in her stomach everytime Hiccup was being romantic.

"What? I can't be excited that you live here now?" Hiccup asked with a chuckle. That earned another laugh from Astrid before Hiccup placed his arms around her waist and pulled her close. Her smirked at her and Astrid just laughed again. "Come here, you."

They were about to lean in to kiss when Valka headed up the stairs. They pulled away just before she came in. Gently knocking on one of the walls, she asked, "Is Valka Haddock welcome here?"

"Of course, Mom," Hiccup said with a hint of laughter in his voice. He still had one arm around Astrid's waist, and Valka let a smile form on her lips.

"I just wanted to see if there was anything else of Astrid's we needed to get. She didn't bring much."

"I don't need much," Astrid stated nonchalantly before Hiccup added on.

"That's because she's got me," Hiccup said. Astrid punched his arm.

"Ow! I was joking Astrid," he whined, rubbing the side of his arm where he got punched. "I'd be nice if you didn't give me any bruises on my arm though."

"I don't even punch you that hard, you wimp!" she said as she broke out into laughter.

"Oh, I'm a wimp?" Hiccup questioned as he raised an eyebrow at Astrid.

"I can punch your flight suit and my hand doesn't even hurt from the metal!"

"Well I..." Hiccup trailed off as he realized he had nothing to say about how strong he was. "I...uh...well I can carry you!"

"Yeah? I can still pin you to the ground with one hand."

Hiccup was silent for a moment. He didn't have any way of arguing against Astrid.

"Fine, you win."

Astrid laughed once more, holding on to Hiccup's arm. "See, Babe, this is why you should never argue with me, especially now that I'm your wife."

"She's right, Hiccup," Valka added. "You men may think you rule the household, but ultimately, it's the women who always win."

"And they're always right," Astrid finished, eyeing Hiccup. She pointed her finger at him as if she was scolding him. "Remember that."

"Of course, M'lady," Hiccup chuckled, pressing another kiss to Astrid's hair. Valka smiled at the sight.

"Well, if that's everything," Valka started, referring to her daughter-in-law's belongings, "then welcome home, Astrid."

"Thank you, Valka," Astrid smiled. She hugged both Valka and Hiccup in a tight embrace. "I'm glad to be here with both of you. We're a family now."

"We sure are," Hiccup spoke after he pulled away. "Now would you like to explore some lands for a bit? Mom said I could have the day off since we were helping you move."

Astrid looked to Valka for approval. Her mother-in-law simply nodded her head, urging them to go spend some much needed time together.

"Sounds great to me," Astrid stated happily.

"Off we go then!"

Hiccup grabbed his wife's hand and they both ran outside, laughing with delight as they hopped on their dragons. Valka stood in the front doorway and smiled again. Her son was so happy. She wished Stoick didn't have to miss out on this. But now there was one more member to their family, and hopefully more in the future.
