Hiccup had just become Chief; the whole village depended on him to watch over and provide for them. Though the task was daunting, Hiccup knew he had a duty to the people, and in remembrance of his father, he'd try his best to be a good example and a good leader of the tribe.
Since he became so busy with work (even though Astrid still helped him out), he often went straight home afterwards from pure exhaustion. Depending on the time, Valka might be awake still, and when she was she'd make tea to try to soothe Hiccup's nerves and sometimes, aching muscles.
One day, Hiccup decided, he needed to do something with Astrid. He barely had any time with his girlfriend, and that itself needed to change. So, once he had a day with a lesser workload (though it was still a lot), he went to tell Valka he'd be back soon, and he went to Astrid's house to ask if she wanted to do something.
Before he got there, Hiccup already ran into Astrid who finished her work of the day as well.
"Well hello, m'lady," Hiccup softly spoke, lightly pressing his lips against hers for only two measly seconds.
"Hello, babe," she greeted, giving him a quick kiss back. "What are you up to?"
"Well, that's why I came to find you," he answered. "I was wondering if you'd maybe want to go to the cove and have some alone time."
Astrid's lips tugged upwards into a grin. "That sounds wonderful, babe, but aren't you tired?"
"Work was less hectic today, so I've got some energy left in me," he chuckled.
"Alright then, I'm all for it."
Hiccup took Astrid's hand in his and walked to Toothless as they both climbed on. And after a matter of moments, they were up in the sky, soaring to Hiccup and Astrid's safe haven.

"And then, the sheep flew backwards and hit Snotlout in the face, and all of a sudden an array of twenty year olds tumbled down the hill!"
"And you just watched?!"
"Yeah! It was Snotlout's problematic idea that got them into the situation in the first place."
The two vikings laughed as Hiccup recounted some of the events that had been happening lately. It felt good to get things off his chest and to laugh for a while.
"Babe," Astrid spoke, still laughing.
"What is it?"
After a minute the two of them stood up, holding each other in their arms.
"You know what he haven't done in a while?" Astrid asked.
"And what would that be," Hiccup asked with a curious smirk.
"We haven't had a real kiss..."
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yeah," she replied, running her fingers from his chest onto his shoulder.
"I think it's about time we had...a proper one."
Suddenly Astrid leaned her lips up to Hiccup's, and he kissed back without hesitation. His grip around her waist tightened, and one hand rubbed her back in gentle circular motions.
Astrid sighed at the feeling, and as Hiccup deepened the kiss, she was even more into it than before. While one hand rubbed Hiccup's shoulder, the other trailed up towards his auburn locks. She played with his hair and Hiccup let out a sigh himself, deepening the kiss even more. He was suddenly getting lost in it.
Toothless was off to the side, watching the whole event. But when Hiccup deepened their kiss, Toothless brought his paw over his face, only leaving one eye visible to watch the two of them.
As they kissed, they absentmindedly kept backing up...backing up...backing up until...
SPLASH!
The two vikings tumbled into the lake.
Astrid's head emerged seconds later, her screaming from the shock of cold water.
"Astrid," Hiccup spoke as he came to the surface. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," she said through gritted teeth. "I'm just shivering from the-the c-cold."
Hiccup immediately swam to his girlfriend, wrapping his arms around her. "It's okay," he whispered. "I got you."
Astrid smiled as they soon swam to shore, their clothes and hair soaking wet. Toothless gave a throaty laugh, and Hiccup just cupped a handful of water and threw it at the dragon.
"Sure you're okay, m'lady?" Hiccup questioned, seeing that Astrid was still shivering.
"F-fine," she managed after a few seconds of silence. Hiccup didn't buy it though. He looked around for something to drape around Astrid's shoulders to keep her warm, but he found nothing. He would give her his vest if he had it, but he grew out of the tunic and now wore his flight suit which was made of leather and metal.
Toothless gently nudged Hiccup, looking down at the ground afterwards. The viking had a confused look on his face, but soon enough Toothless nudged Hiccup and Astrid to the ground, both of the Vikings staring at each other, wondering what exactly Toothless was trying to do.
After a few moments, they felt something wrap around them. The Night Fury wrapped his body around the two freezing vikings, and let the warmth from his black absorbent scales hopefully warm them. Astrid leaned against Toothless, patting the dragon with a sigh, and Hiccup did the same. He brought an arm around his girlfriend's shoulders and she rested her head on his.
"I could get used to this," she whispered.
"Yeah, if it doesn't involve us kissing then falling into negative degree water."
Astrid playfully shoved Hiccup, rolling her eyes as she settled back into his arms.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Astrid," Hiccup replied, kissing the girl's hair.
And hours later, Valka came looking for Hiccup since he hadn't come home yet. When she went to the cove and finally found him, a smile crossed her face as she saw a dragon and two vikings sound asleep in each other's arms, their hands still clasped together.
"He better propose to her one day," Valka said. "Or his mother will have something to say about it."
She laughed silently and headed back home, leaving the two lovebirds to sleep off their worries and enjoy the peaceful and restful night.

Lol ha I kinda like this one. It's much shorter than the others, but cute. It makes me laugh when they fall in the lake...did they not know it was there? xD
So I saw Big Hero 6 today...and it was my second time seeing it haha. The first time I saw it was the Friday it came out...and yeah this has nothing to do with httyd but I highly recommend you watch the movie. It's sad but also really hilarious!
Anyways...I have some ideas for one shots, but please leave suggestions! And tell me what you thought of this one! It just kind of happened... I don't know why I didn't think of it before.
