The mens room was thick with the intimate scents of strawberries, cigars and my own inhibitions. But I had to put that all behind me. I was standing here in front of who was probably the most ethereal being to grace this earth and he had JUST let me cigar him.
"Obsidian..." Venus said softly. "I know we have had our differences but..." He shook his head slightly.
"W-What is it?" I asked but I knew what he was going to say. I had planned every move.
"I'm sorry." He turned his head away from me. "I've never been in this kind of situation before. Hell, I've lived in a creek my whole life." He laughed bashfully. He took a deep breath and lowered his eyes. "I just don't know why we keep fighting... is.. what I'm trying to say... I guess..." I was elated at his confession but I had one of my own.
"I think I know the answer." I said, blushing. "I think the reason we fight so often is because we're just too damn similar."
He laughed which made me uncomfortable since it wasn't the reaction I was completely expecting. "Ah, I wouldn't go as far as to say that."
I guess that was true...
And then I understood what he was trying to say.
"So, I guess what you're trying to say is: opposites attract." I smirked. He looked at me with a slight smile, so I leaned forward, pressing my lips against his.
Suddenly I was on the other side of the room, my spine fractured. I glanced at where I once stood to find Venus staring at me with a mixture of anger, disgust and betrayal. I groaned in pain, setting him off.
"You don't think I know what you're trying to do?" he hollered, wiping his mouth with sandpaper. "You're trying to use my lips to get to Cougar's but I won't let you! You will not indirectly kiss her through my lips, I've already wiped them clean!" He charged at me.
"Nooo." I tried to object but I was so winded it only came out as a strained whisper that Venus likely couldn't hear. He plowed into me, pushing me into the cement wall of the mens bathroom. He wailed on me, every cry of pain only making him angrier. I was beaten so brutally, I finally found my chance to make some distance from him while Venus caught his breath.
"Venus please," I begged, as I scrambled away feebly. "I thought we reached an understanding! We had a whole heart to heart!!" He took a step back, placing his hands on his hips and trying to steady his breathing. His eyes never left mine.
"Heart to heart!?" he asked. "Your heart is black and cold and full of betrayal!! I should know, I've lived in a creek."
I didn't know what that meant but I had no time to ask. Venus started to pummel me again. When I was within an inch of my unfulfilled life, Venus took a step back, being the reasonable man he is. Sweat was pouring down his chiseled face. He extended me a hand and pulled me to my feet. My legs wobbled and I had to hold back a groan of pain, terrified that I would set off Venus yet again. I clasped a hand over my mouth, unable to stop myself from falling back down which resulted in Venus leaving me on the bathroom floor to make my own recovery.
It took a lot of effort but I was eventually able to peel myself off of the floor and waddle out of the mens room to encounter a horrifying sight. Venus had somehow made it outside before me and was standing with none other than Cougar Husbandry. I watched as he blushed a little. I limped over to where Elly and Cosmic were standing and stared as Venus made his big move.
"Ms. Husbandry!" Venus announced, gathering all of his courage while I could do nothing but dismay, "I... I have something to ask of you!" Cougar looked unsure.
"Alright." She sighed. "Just tell me."
"I..." He took another moment to gather his courage again but this time it felt like he was draining mine as well. "I want you to go on a date with me!" Cougar looked like she was going to be sick.
