"She did?" Mr. Lee asked without looking up from his laptop. Although his lack of interest in her daughter was unnerving, Oliver was still in no place to question his boss.
"Yes, boss. I had also suggested hiring a drawing teacher for her but she didn't look very happy with the proposition." That was an understatement. He doesn't know what had happened in those 6 days but that was enough to completely change his miss.
Even her maid had looked somewhat terrified of that little girl after she woke up yesterday. Although he could see that Wendy's sincerity towards Haneun was enough to bury the fear. If he hasn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed the rumors going around the mansion. Her aura has completely changed recently. Her eyes, which had a certain light in them were no more there and were replaced by an unforgiving coldness.
The way she looked at him when he asked her about her father was something no child of her age should possess. There was no warmth, anger, or even fear of the recent events. It was just empty. And that was more terrifying. But he wasn't sure if he should tell this to his boss. Will he care if he finds out that his daughter no more cares about him?
"Very well. Hire a proper teacher for her. She won't be attending any school until she turns 13 anyway. I don't want her to be wasting her time doing nothing." Mr. Lee said coldly, continuing his work. Mr. Oliver wasn't satisfied. Doesn't he wonder why his 10 years old daughter suddenly wants to learn about business? Not being able to hold the question back, he finally worded his question out.
"Isn't it clear that she is after my business? She might've heard from someone about my other profession and thinks that I'll hand it over to her when she grows up. Like mother, like daughter." He scoffed.
Mr. Oliver was speechless. Just where did he go wrong in training this kid? He had reached everything he knows today but he doesn't remember teaching him to be this unreasonable. Haneun is a kid! Kids her age don't plot something that complex! He had seen her this morning and her eyes held determination to do what she was doing. And even if she wanted to take over the company, wouldn't it be Normal? She is his daughter. Someone who was abandoned before she even found out what mother is. Nonetheless, he left his boss' office with a sense of disappointment for himself. He failed to raise him right.
If only the topic of their discussion knew what they were talking about. She would've laughed at her father's face if he said something like that in front of her. Her taking over his business was not going to happen. It didn't happen in her last lifetime and won't happen in this one either. Why would she want to work for a company that she wants to destroy with her hand?
Of course, there's still a lot of time left for that to happen but she sure was excited. She was finally taking the first step towards her father's destruction. No no, she won't kill him. That would be a little too less for her. She will make sure to return to him everything he once gave her. Not only him but everyone that has ever crossed her.
Her father was so proud because he had money, men, thousands of houses, and millions of people that feared him. Eh? Then what will happen if he was left with none? She would be using him as long as she could as her stepping stone before leaving him to fall for his demise.
Haneun silently sat on the ground while thoughtlessly staring at the carnations. She had shooed Wendy a long time ago, saying that she wants to be alone. Although a little unsure at first, she reluctantly agreed and left her alone.
From the moment she woke up, she was thinking about the same thing. Revenge. They are gonna pay for what they had done to her. Even if she gets her revenge in this lifetime, she'll kill them again if they met in another lifetime. Her main two enemies were her father and that bastard who still was 6 years away from showing up in her life. But one of them was already here.
