When school ended, Haneun entered that same car that dropped her in the morning. Her eyes totally ignored the presence of the person who was beaming at her. She just sat back in her seat and closed her eyes. The driver immediately began driving.
"You are ignoring me." Jinyoung said with the hint of a whine in his voice. However, haneun just simply turned her head in the other direction.
"You also skipped breakfast this morning. The chef told me you forgot to bring your lunch with you today. You didn't even have any money on you. Did you even eat something?" Jinyoung continued to fuss even though haneun wasn't paying attention.
Jinyoung sighed shook his head when he got no reply from haneun. He leaned back in his seat. This morning he also found out that haneun was going to school in the smallest and oldest car in their garage, he was flabbergasted. Although he was confused he knew there's no meaning in asking Haneun the reason because she'll just ignore him again.
"Take left." He told the driver while taking his phone out to text someone. Haneun on the other hand raised her eyebrows. That's the opposite route from the Lee mansion.
"Where are we going?" Haneun asked as she finally looked at Haneun. Jinyoung's fingers halted on his phone screen as he looked at Haneun with a playful smile. His previous self that felt a bit discouraged when haneun didn't reply immediately vanished.
"Oh, you are no more ignoring me!" Jinyoung teased. "Don't worry. It's just a small surprise planned by me." He said happily. The driver, who has been working for Mr. Lee for 8 years, felt his calm composure crack a bit from shock when his eyes accidentally landed on the rearview mirror.
This was the first time he has seen Young master smiling and talking in such an unrestricted manner.
"I don't like surprises," Haneun said bluntly before she looked away from Jinyoung and closed her eyes again. Jinyoung gave haneun a tight-lipped smile even though he knew she couldn't see it.
"I'll remember that. Have patience just this once, hm?" He said with a hint of sadness in his voice. He already knows that it's wrong of him to think that haneun would immediately accept him as his brother. After all, for her, he was just someone who would help her leave that damned house. If only she knew his true intentions.
Haneun didn't say anything and Jinyoung took it as a sign of her agreeing. He continued to tell the directions to the driver from time to time and soon the car stopped moving.
Haneun opened her eyes and blinked a few times before her eyes observed her surrounding. She inhaled sharply when she realized where she was.
The Whalien.
The Whalien was the biggest restaurant in the whole of Korea. The company was so successful in its field that no one in the market could beat it. It wasn't just because of how grand it was.
The main reason behind its success was the taste and the quality of the food it served. No other company seemed to match their level no matter how they tried. And just like the quality, the price of the food was also top-notch.
The restaurant being so grand and famous also made it a place many celebrities and famous individuals would have to wait months on the waiting list before they can get a reservation.
And Haneun was no different. In her previous life, she was very excited to dine here. However, the waiting list was 6 months long. She remembers this incident clearly because she wanted to eat together with Mr. Lee. She wanted to give him a small gift of gratitude for looking after her for so many years.
