"Looks like someone finally saw you." The girl stood in front of haneun's desk said with a provocative tone. She smiled sarcastically at haneun, trying to get some reaction out of her. Her voice wasn't loud but still attracted some attention from others.
All of them were a bit confused. Did they both already know each other? Although non of them said anything, they were anticipating the upcoming drama.
However, the girl to whom these words were directed just blankly stared at her. Her gaze held a subtle mockery in them that managed to get on the girl's nerves.
She couldn't help but feel that the girl sitting in front of her was a lot different from the girl she knew in the past.
"Who are you?" Haneun looked her up and down with a disinterested look. Her voice was loud and clear making some students snickered secretly. The girl's face immediately turned ugly as she glared at haneun. Her face turned red from the embarrassment she was feeling right now. However, she decided to swallow her bitter words for now.
She knew that the teacher could enter any moment now. Although every student knew her true personality, the teachers believed that she was a very obedient student.
She tried to maintain her composer while sneering internally. At first, she didn't know that the new girl everyone was talking about would turn out to be haneun.
However, now that she finally got a good look at her face, she recognized haneun just by one look and couldn't help but feel satisfied. The bitch was still no comparison to her. They both were ones in the same orphanage when they were young.
Or did this bitch really forget?
They have been in the same orphanage since they were 3. However, haneun had a very meek and cowardly personality and never said a word to anyone about her problems, making it very easy for others to bully her. Truthfully, the kids of the orphanage were jealous.
Although haneun was smaller than the others of her age, she was extremely intelligent and beautiful. Her paperwhite skin seemed to glow when someone looks at her although she did nothing to look after it. Her watery eyes were enough to make anyone melt in front of her.
Even the Dean and the kitchen staffs were partial when it came to her. They would give her extra food, a good bed with a mattress that was a little bit better than others. Even the visitors that came to adopt always preferred haneun first.
However, the small haneun still believed that her real parents would someday come to take her. In the end, the adopter would choose someone else. As a result, everyone continued to bully her to 'teach her a lesson' so that she could know that she would never be better than them.
In the end, everyone believed that she would always stay in the orphanage until one day they learned that haneun has run away. Not to mention, it's been a long since she had seen haneun. If not for haneun's face, she would've thought that she had mistaken her with someone else.
Her whole temperament was different now. Unlike before, she didn't cower when someone talks to her. In fact, she was the one who appeared to be the intimidating one.
But the girl was too proud to come to terms with that. So, instead, she just told herself that it was just because they hadn't taught her some lessons for a long time. She inwardly gloated.
Just you wait! I'll make sure to bring back those days where you dreaded to even hear my name!
"Stop pretending, bastard! It's me, Hye-Ri. Han Hye-Ri!" She hissed lowly so that only Haneun could hear her. However, the girl who sat beside haneun perfectly heard what she had said and couldn't help but feel bad for the new girl. She just came and was already being targeted by these bullies.
