It felt like home

Haneun sat on the edge of the bed while eyeing the large pile of clothes in one corner of the room. She gave namjoon, who was sitting on a chair, a judging look.

It was obvious what he did after slamming the door on her face and opening it after 5 minutes.

"You slammed the door on my face," haneun brought up while narrowing her eyes at him. Namjoon looked away while clearing his throat.

"It was my fault. I wasn't prepared for you to suddenly show up and panicked and--" namjoon trailed off and gave haneun a thin-lipped smile. Haneun didn't say anything but her eyes softened a bit.

She knew it wasn't namjoon's intention to do so without even him explaining it. It was partly her fault too. She did show up suddenly.

She has observed namjoon long enough to know that the boy easily gets flustered. Although she isn't the playful type, she likes to push his buttons very much.

Namjoon has already changed into a fresh set of clothes and sat silently while looking guiltily at the younger girl.

"I'm sorry. It didn't hit your nose, did it? Should I bring some ice?" Namjoon suddenly sat up straight upon the realization that he hasn't asked her if she was okay. What if the door had hit her nose? He has enough experience to know that it hurts like hell.

"There's no need for that. Just don't do it again." She sighed.

Namjoon nodded while smiling guiltily.

"Oh, is there something wrong? You came earlier than I was expecting." He tilted his head to one side as his eyes unconsciously glanced at the wall clock in his room.

"Nothing's wrong. It's just that I won't be able to come in the evening. So I thought of dropping by and giving you a heads up." Haneun answered bluntly.

"Is something wrong?" Namjoon frowned. They have been meeting and talking for a long time now. Even haneun was starting to open up a lot more than she previously did. But namjoon couldn't help but feel that there were many things she keeps from him.

Haneun shook her head, "No. Things will be busier today because of the festival so I don't think I would be able to sneak out later."

Namjoon nodded. He found haneun's answer satisfactory. But even if he didn't, there's no way he can question her when he himself was hiding something that would probably change many things between them.

"Well, I'm happy that you came. How about we head to the kitchen? Knowing father, he must already be preparing something to eat for us," namjoon chuckled while shaking his head. Haneun gave him a faint smile and stood up.

Even though this was the first time she ever came here, she knew namjoon's guess was correct. His father has already shooed her away so that he could cook something for her.

As they neared the kitchen, the intoxicating smell of delicacies entered their system. Namjoon continued walking but turned his head towards haneun to give her a smug face as if saying, 'Look? I was correct.'

Haneun wasn't overly polite with him and rolled her eyes. She continued walking without paying attention to namjoon, who laughed in amusement.

His father turned around when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He was wearing a white apron, and on the center was the same blue koala print that haneun saw namjoon wearing.
