The sky had already turned dark when the man was done saying everything. The only source of light now we're the small bulbs above there head.
Mr. Lee sat on his chair silently, watching as his men untied both the woman and the man. He looked away with a bored look as they both hugged each other. He looked at his right-hand man and nodded subtly. Two men surrounded the couple while one of them supported the man.
"I intend to keep my promise. My men will give you and your partner a room to stay for a few days so that those wounds heal before they drop you at the airport. You'll be staying in a different country from then on and don't even dare to show your face in this country or else, I won't be so forgiving." Mr. Lee said calmly. The man just nodded while tightly holding her wife's hand.
Mr. Lee raised an eyebrow when he saw the man suddenly telling his men to wait and approached him. The man took a while to stop in front of him as he was limping. The man licked his dry lips and bowed his head a little.
"Your daughter..." The man paused while looking at the ground and Mr. Lee's eyes immediately darkened.
"What about her?" Mr. Lee asked with a hint of impatience in his voice. The man flinched a bit at his cold tone. Although he could've just left without saying anything, he felt as if he owes something to the man. He might not be a good leader, but he regretted what he had done. His profession also had some rules, one being never to hurt women or kids. They might do some kidnapping, but they made sure not to inflict any harm on them. However, Haneun was the first kid they had laid their hands on. He was blinded by the amount the other party was willing to pay.
When the other party came to know that the kid wasn't important, they even ordered to kill her. When Mr. Lee's men broke the door, they were debating if they should kill the kid. When he realized that they were found, he realized that his wife would be left alone. That was enough to make him a coward, as he ran away. However, he didn't know that she was the daughter of the biggest mafia and never thought that this day would ever come.
The man took a deep breath and finally looked at Mr. Lee, "I'm sorry for what I did to her. I know this won't fix anything because the damage is already done but I'll tell you, she has a very strong heart." He chuckled, "she spit on one of my men's faces and even had the guts to glare at everyone in the room even with a gun pointed at her head." The man said, reminiscing the look on her face just before the door was broken. For a small kid, that look looked seemed more terrifying than it would've on any adult.
Mr. Lee's eyes narrowed a bit at the new piece of information but said nothing. His face remained stiffs and he just merely nodded. The man just smiled one last time before limping back towards her wife and exiting the warehouse.
After all his men went ahead, Mr. Lee walked towards his car with his right-hand man beside him.
"You are lucky that he was still in the state to speak." Mr. Lee coldly glanced at his right-hand man, Yuk Dong- Min, who just smiled sheepishly.
"It wasn't my fault that you didn't classify how much we should beat his face in, Jin-ho " Dong-min just shrugged, not minding the cold glare Mr. Lee was shooting him. He has known Mr. Lee for a long time. Way before he was involved in all this mafia shits. Although Dong-min was a few years younger than Mr. Lee, he never bothered with the honorifics. And after spending more than 30 years together, he was no more affected by those cold glares.
[A/N: Haneun's father's name is Lee Jin-Ho.]
"Why don't you just say that you were pissed at what he did to that girl." Mr. Lee scoffed but didn't manage to wipe Dong-Min's silly smirk off his face. He really should've come a little early. This morning, when he was busy with his work, he suddenly received a text from his men that they have captured the leader. He was about to head out when he received another text from Jinyoung, telling him that he had something important to say and that they should have lunch together in the mansion. Not wanting to refuse him, he decided to head towards the mansion before the warehouse. However, that caused him to be late.
