Even if haneun had a memory loss, this girl's voice was enough to remind her about all her miseries. The young girl who appeared to be just a little bit older than haneun was her cousin.
She was the closest friend of Rose (Felix's girlfriend) and Han Hye-Ri. Haneun met Lee Soojin first when they were 8.
For someone who barely knew about the world, that haneun searched for good in everything and everyone and Lee Soojin was one of those everyone. Lee Soojin was a snake.
A snake that was too afraid to attack directly and would let others play her cards. A smart move but somewhat cowardly if you ask haneun.
Things started to heat up when haneun started attending the same school as Lee Soojin.
At first, it was very subtle in the beginning. Her Homeworks going missing, itching powder in her clothes, mixing stuff she was allergic to in her food, someone pushing her off the stairs but finding no one when she looked up.
Lee Soojin did everything and made sure no one knew. However, haneun too was at fault. She didn't tell anyone about all these knowing that no one cared enough to check on it but she didn't do anything herself.
However, shit hit the fan when Rose and Han Hye-Ri joined the group when they were in 8th grade. That was when Lee Soojin directly went against haneun. But at that time, hanuen's reputation was tarnished beyond repair by the three. So haneun could do nothing but face it all alone.
"Sister," Haneun said with a hint of mockery in the corner of her phoenix eyes. Out of her old habits, haneun loved to push the buttons of everyone around her.
She said the name in a very calm manner, however, any person with experience would know it was laced with a thick layer of disgust.
Although Lee Soojin found something amiss in the current haneun, she couldn't bring herself to think that the cowardly orphan would dare to go against her.
The said girl finally composed herself. Her eyes that were wide reduced to their normal size as her face turned blank.
She blinked her big watery eyes innocently that would make her look pitiful to anyone. Too bad for her, haneun immediately caught the jealousy behind those onyx color eyes.
Haneun's arched eyebrow raised a little. This girl was truly better than Han Hye-Ri.
"Haneun, don't be angry at older sister." She said as tears pooled in her eyes. The girl looked heartbroken at her 'younger sister's action but in reality, she just spoke with her voice a tad bit higher than what a person standing in such a short distance would. Some people even turned to look in their direction.
Haneun wanted to roll her eyes. She doesn't even remember what the fuck happened between them because whatever it was, it happened a long time ago.
And not to mention, she didn't care enough to remember something so trivial.
"Older sister, what are you talking about? How can I be angry at you? I simply thought it was someone else!" Haneun was bored.
Although she would've been very tempted to behave how she normally would've, she wanted to create a bit of drama and didn't directly dismiss Lee Soojin.
Let's see how you handle the taste of your own medicine, my dear cousin. A sinister smile passed through her eyes that wasn't quite a smile. However, it was gone as soon as it came.
Lee Soojin forced a smile, "That's a relief. I was worried that my little sister was angry at me for not visiting you after you were--" she stopped mid-sentence and gasped dramatically.
