She went over to join Jesse who was leaning against a fence to one of the playgrounds.

"Yo, Dina! Assignments!" he called.

Dina was in the middle of what looked like an intense snowball fight with some of the older kids.

"Just gimme a minute!" she replied.

"Will you get your girlfriend to the stables please?" Jesse said with the slightest smirk.

He walked away and Ellie glared in his direction.

"Oh my god."

She walked over and leaned against the wooden fence.

"Hey, Dina! Can I talk to you?"

"Hey, guys! I'm tapping out. We'll pick this up later."

The whines and groans of the kids told Ellie that they really didn't want to stop playing. She felt bad but she needed to talk with Dina before they left for patrol.

"Hey," they both said simultaneously.

"Um, I just wanted to say sorry for running off last night."

She did get pretty upset and just left Dina behind. It was one of the other things she was feeling guilty for.

"Oh, that's-- it's okay. I totally get it. I just, I felt bad."

"Why?"

"Cause I started the whole thing. I just...I shouldn't have kissed you in front of all those people and I..."

"You were drunk. It's fine."

"Well, still. I don't want you to think..."

"No, I'm not reading into it or anything like that."

"You know what I love about you? How you let me finish my sentences."

She smirked and quickly realized that she was being sarcastic.

"All right...well, we should probably get...get going."

"Yeah. Let's go."

"So, Jesse wants us to do the creek trails. He's gonna relieve Beth and Tommy."

"Oh. It's nice he assigned us together. You're gonna like this route. I just know you will," Dina said.

"We shall see."

The two of them made their way into the stables, greeting those who were on duty.

"Morning, ladies. I'll bring them over to you," Bobby said.

He was the one that was in charge of making sure all the horses they had were accounted for.

"Thank you!" Dina shouted.
