Meeting Tommy at the stables, Beth grabbed the reigns of her horse, Nelly and climbed on.

"So I uh...I take it you won the argument?"

She looked over at Tommy and smiled.

"I was always gonna win the argument, you know that."

"Tommy! Tommy!" someone from behind them called.

The both of them turned to see Maria making her way over.

"Hon, go back to bed," Tommy said.

"Morning, Beth. I take it you won the argument."

"The two of you know me that well, huh?"

"I thought you guys could use some hot coffee for the road."

She handed the both of them a thermos which they stashed away in their packs.

"Take care of yourselves will you?" she said.

Tommy bent down and gave her a quick peck on the lips.

"Don't get up right away. Get at least a couple of hours of sleep," Tommy said.

"I doubt I will but for you, I'll try. Be safe."

"Thanks, for the coffee, Maria."

Grabbing the reigns of her horse, Beth took the lead once the gates had opened up.

After a few minutes, Beth slowed down to enjoy the way the snow blanketed all of her surroundings. Even though it was still dark out, the snow-covered landscape wasn't too hard to miss. Tommy hadn't stopped but when he didn't hear her behind him, he stopped to look toward her.

"What is it?" he asked.

She looked over at him and smiled as she reached him.

"You know back in Texas, it hardly snowed. I don't know I guess, I still haven't gotten used to seeing it a lot more than I did back then."

"We are further up north," Tommy retorted.

Their horses had started moving forward again. She punched his arm playfully.

"Well, thank you for that, Captain Obvious. Forgive me for taking the time to enjoy the scenery."

"You know I'm just messing with you, Bethy. That's something that is never going away."

"And I don't want it to. Hell it's always fun messing with you."

"Okay. So tell me, when we were kids, that time when you, Joel and I did that double date at the movies, did y'all try to sabotage that night purposely or what?"

She thought for a few seconds and then recalled that night.

"Why bring up that night?"

"Cause I never figured it out. We started the date off fine and then when she came back from the restroom, the two of you acted so cold around her. I never figured out why."
