Joel couldn't sleep in their house so Ellie offered him a spot on her couch. The next day they both woke up early to pay Beth a visit before they left. They both sat there for a few minutes in silence. Both recalling all the memories of her that they'd be taking with them. Some bad but most of them the good kind. And it was those memories that would drive the both of them to see the end of all this. For her. For Beth. Joel shed a few tears as he started to remember the good. He stood up and started to head out when he ran into Dina.

"Hey, Joel."

"Hey there, Dina."

"How are you?"

"As 'bout as good as someone can be after they've lost the love of their life."

Dina fell silent and hung her head. Joel sighed and ran a hand down his face.

"I'm sorry, Dina. I didn't mean for it to sound the way it did."

"Please don't apologize, Joel. It was a stupid question to ask."

"It was a logical question."

"Where are you headed?" she asked as she looked at the backpack that he was currently sporting.

"Do you really have to ask?"

She nodded. Ellie came over to them.

"I'll uh, I'll leave the two of you."

He turned to walk out of the cemetery.

"Joel."

He stopped and looked over at Ellie.

"Don't leave without me. Please."

Joel nodded and turned back around. Dina looked at her the whole time.

"Ellie."

"We're not talking about this."

She started heading out but Dina grabbed her arm.

"I think we better."

"Dina. You weren't there. You didn't see what they...you wouldn't understand."

"Wouldn't I? Ellie, the assholes who killed my sister...I would have given anything to have gotten the chance to take them all out."

"You're not coming."

She placed a hand on her face.

"I can't...I can't lose you too, Dina. Not you."

"Do you really expect me to sit and wait for you to come back? To go on thinking whether or not you're dead?"

"Dina...I don't know what else to tell you...I have to do this."

"I know you do. And that's why I'm coming with you. You're not benching me, Ellie. You try to and I'm just gonna go out and look for you. I loved Beth too. We do this, together. You go, I go. End of story."
