It was stupid. It was reckless. But, it may just work. They saw how dangerous the mastermind could be. They already killed someone for not obeying the rules. So this was the safest choice. Everyone had simultaneously agreed on three people. And one of those three people would be given to the mastermind to kill and end the killing game, the one of which hadn't started yet, but then again, there hadn't been anything to give them reason to kill so what was the point? But that didn't stop the fear that someone may eventually kill another. So everyone met in the cafeteria, with the permission to keep it open at night because the mastermind saw they were plotting something.
"So, I'm sure we know why we're here," Byakuya said rolling his eyes. "W-why are three people missing?" Toko asked. "I assume that's who we all think should be given to the mastermind," Kyoko said not even phased this was happening. "Why are we doing this though? Why do we have to listen?" Chihiro said sadly. "Well, the mastermind is clearly dangerous, I mean they did kill Mondo for not following the rules, they will do anything they can for their own personal gain and want nothing to go wrong, so if we don't listen, they'll make sure the game starts," Kyoko analysed. "So, the people we've all agreed on are Hiro, Hifumi and Taka? Why them?" Celeste asked. "Well, I feel that we should discuss each of them and decide who's the worst out of the three and who we don't feel we need," Makoto sighed. He clearly didn't want to do this, but he knew he had to, 1 for 14 others, it will still be horrible, but more are spared that way. "So let's discuss it shall we?" Celeste said wanting to get this done as quickly as possible. So, they went through all of them. They decided that Hiro should stay because while it wasn't 100% of the time he was right, only 30%, but there was still a possibility they would need him. They believed Hifumi should stay because, while they didn't find him the most likeable, he did seem to encourage others and if they escaped, he definitely knew a lot of people who he could contact or talk to because he could essentially be classed as internet famous due to his popular fanfictions. So they decided Taka, he seemed way too overbearing for everyone and didn't seem like he understood what kind of situation they were in, and said the completely wrong things which were kind of off putting. So Taka it was. The next night they gathered everyone but Taka, to talk about it and regretfully, they all agreed. Even if they knew it resulted in someone's death. So the morning rolled around and they all met in the cafeteria again. But with everyone there. "Monokuma," Byakuya called. Monokuma popped out of nowhere like usual. "What d'ya want?" Monokuma asked innocently. "If we decided on who we wanted to 'sacrifice' to stop the killing game before it starts, how would we do that?" Byakuya asked annoyed. "Simple! You know where the stairs to the next floor is? You go there, call for me, and walk off leaving the sacrifice with me while I take them to a separate part of the school to kill them!" Monokuma said enthusiastically. "Thank you, that will be all then," Byakuya said, waving Monokuma away with his hand. And so he disappeared. "Wait, hold on! Don't tell me you're considering this Togami!" Taka exclaimed angrily. Byakuya gave a small laugh. "Ishimaru, it's not just me... it's everyone," Byakuya said with a smirk. "It can't be everyone though! Because I haven't agreed to it! And who have all of you chosen! Did someone volunteer?" Taka said clearly distressed this is happening. "I'm sorry Taka," Makoto said sadly. "What?" But before he knew it, someone had a hold of his arms and was being dragged out of the cafeteria. He started to realise what was happening, he started crying and screaming at whoever was dragging him away to let him go. He couldn't die, not yet. Not now. He still had so much he had to do. But before he knew it, he was in front of the gate that led to the rest of the school. Someone called for Monokuma then Taka heard them walk off. Monokuma came out of nowhere and opened the gate and made Taka follow him. Taka just followed him, still crying that he was about to die, I mean who wouldn't? But everyone wanted him to. There was a difference between knowing you're sending yourself to die, and others sending you to die. He went up several sets of stairs until he came to a room that Monokuma opened, then he disappeared. He assumed that's where the mastermind was. He walked into the room, and noticed no one in there. But there were a bunch of screens of different parts of the school. This had to be where the mastermind was. At the very back of the room was a door with Monokumas face on, where the mastermind probably hid. Taka fell to the floor, crying harder. This was it. He heard the door in front of him open. "Th-this is your f-fault! I wouldn't be here if you- if you didn't bring us here in the fir-first place, and even if you did, if you d-didn't ki-kill M-Mondo for your own personal g-gain. If h-he was st-still here, I-I wouldn't be here!" Taka expected the mastermind to laugh and just kill him. But he was wrong. They wrapped their arms around him. "What the actual fuck." Taka heard them whisper. Taka gasped, he'd recognise that voice anywhere. He immediately hugged back and started crying out of comfort. They stayed like that for a while. "Taka, I'm so fuckin' sorry, I really am." Taka didn't listen, he just moved closer. "M-Mondo, I can't believe it, it's you," Kiyotaka said. "H-hey, at least it means we're both still here right?" Mondo said, pulling back and wiping Taka's tears off his face. "B-but why?" Taka asked. "I have... many reasons which I'd rather not talk about," Mondo sighed. Taka leaned forward again and hugged Mondo. He clearly didn't care. He was alive and he had his best friend who he thought died, with him and alive. After a while, they both calmed down and stopped crying. "Hey Taka?" Mondo asked. Taka looked up, silently answering Mondo. "How would you like to get revenge?" Mondo said with a smirk. "You mean? Help you?" Taka asked, shocked. "Why not? I didn't plan on endin' the game, it'd give 'em more despair. Imagine that! Ya sacrifice one person's life for yer own just 'cause ya had no guarantee that ya'd survive some stupid game!" Mondo exclaimed excitedly, a lustful look in his eyes. Taka thought for a moment, but before he could agree he wanted one question answered. "Why did you let me live? Or is this some game you're playing with me so I feel happy but the next second you kill me and I feel betrayal in my last moments?" Taka asked slyly. "It's funny really. I was excited. I wanted a surprise for myself ta kill honestly. So when I 'eard the screams and cries I was so excited 'cause that made it more fun. Then I saw it was ya. I honestly didn't plan ta get close with ya, but we did. So why wouldn' I let the one I love join me?" Mondo said, grabbing Taka's face gently and moving it so their eyes met. "Y-you what?" Taka stammered in embarrassment. "Ya heard me," Mondo said with a soft smile. "You truly mean it? You actually love me?" Taka asked, grinning while a blush spread on his face. Instead of answering with words, Mondo lent forwards and kissed Taka on the lips. Taka quickly kissed back and wrapped his arms around Mondo's neck. So what if the guy he loved was insane. He was also the only one who cared about him. And it's not as if he was any better. He was about to get ready to follow him to the ends of the earth and help him. He didn't know his motives but, he knew there was a good reason why he did this. So he was going to join him. And then the game started. Well, in a sneaky way kind of. Mondo summoned them to the entrance hall, where everyone expected them to be let out. But Monokuma appeared in front of them. Causing their faces to drop, and for Monokuma to laugh in their pitiful faces. The game then began. First to die was Chihiro and Toko who killed him. Then Yasuhiro was killed by Aoi. Then both Celeste and Hifumi were killed by Sakura. Then it was Mukuro, killed by Byakuya. And they all ended this way because they had motives to kill. And had to put up with the brutal executions and trials leading to more dead. And the longer it went on, the more they regretted listening to the mastermind, especially before the game even happened.
