I quickly make a locker check when I get to school. When I get to first hour, I take my usual seat, considering the fact that we haven't been assigned a particular seat yet.
"Miss Murphy."
I look up from my desk to see that the teacher has called me.
"Yes, Mr. Fill?" I ask as I reach his desk, cluttered with papers and pens.
"It seems as if you've never turned in your 'About Me' essay."
Ugh. And here I am, trying to be polite when I just doesn't wanna barf in his face. He doesn't need to know anything about me. These dumbass teachers and their dumbass 'About Me' essays. They only got on my nerves more than I expected.
"Sorry, I'm just not okay with the whole theory if you knowing a million different things about me."
"Well, Miss Murphy, this is a class assignment grade."
I shrug. "So?"
He doesn't say another word. I make my way over to my seat.
Out of my peripheral vision, I see someone's head turned towards me. I casually look over to see the same boy that seems to be staring.
When Mr. Fill starts talking about the specific lesson we're going to learn, the weird guy's eyes go to the front of the classroom and so do mine.
I can't focus on the lesson. I never can. So when the bell rings, I'm eager to get out of this pathetic classroom.
Eventually, lunchtime comes and I'm sitting at a small table with my tray of food. I look around at a few tables to see multiple people at them. Laughing, talking, enjoying their lunches.
My thoughts are interrupted when a certain curly haired boy slides into my table.
"Um, can I help you?"
"What you did today, in class, that was pretty cool." He says. I find myself watching his lips as they move. His plump, pink lips slowly take the shape of every letter, while his thick British accent makes the delicate sounds of each word.
What am I doing, sitting here, thinking about a random guy's mouth?
"Um....thanks."
"So, you're kind of a loner, aren't you?"
I nod slowly, picking at my food.
"And you're kind of a nosy dumbass."
Instead of being offended, he let's out a sharp laugh.
"You know, you're a little bit mysterious. Dark and cold." He stares at me for a moment, "I like it."
