He leads me through the tall grass. As far as I'm concerned, we're still in the middle of no where. His hand in mine gives me the reassurance that we are indeed headed somewhere beautiful.
When we finally get to a small lake on the other side of the tall grass, my mouth drops open.
The landscape is beautiful and it makes the lake glisten in the night.
Harry tugs at my hand. "Come on."
"What?"
"Well, you don't like doing what you're told."
"No, but....."
"This is how we break the rules, sweetheart."
He runs and jumps into the lake, ripping his shirt off on the way.
"No way!" I laugh.
"Don't make me come out and get you."
I cross my arms and stare out into the distance, only to look back at him. "I'm not getting in that lake."
"Yes, you are."
"I am not!" I exclaim.
"Oh, you are. It's your choice whether you come in on your own or if I have to throw you in."
"I'd like to see you try."
My thoughts instantly came out of my mouth and I regret it. Harry's eyes harden on mine. In seconds, he's out the lake, charging towards me.
I try to run, but his quickness gets him to me faster, lifting me over his shoulders. I feel him throwing me and within minutes, the water touches my skin.
I am fully aware of my fully clothed body.
Harry stands outside the lake, satisfied with himself. "Got anything else to say?"
I try to keep myself up, gasping for air. "I can't........I can't swim!"
His smirk instantly turns his face into a look of worry, concern, and horror. He jumps in the pool, quickly getting to me.
Once he does, I burst into laughter.
A confusing look covers his face as his arms remain around me.
When he realizes he's been fooled, his arms quickly leave me. I continue to laugh.
"You should've seen your face."
"That's not funny!"
"It's pretty funny to me." I continue to laugh as Harry pouts. "Oh come on. You're the one who threw me in here. At least enjoy it."
The smirk reappears on his face as he comes over to me, holding me in his grasp once again. He kisses me, hard.
"You're very very lucky darling."
I smirk, "Oh yeah? How so?"
"Because you're on my good side."
"I didn't know you had a good side."
"It's only for you to see."
I stare into his eyes momentarily before his lips meet mine again. He kisses me passionately. Night falls soon and we still drift in the lake.
"Let's stay here tonight." He murmurs against my lips.
"What?"
He shrugs. "It's beautiful. Let's stay."
"Where will we sleep?"
"Come here." He lifts himself out of the lake, extending his hands to me.
I grasp onto his arms and allow him to lift me out of the lake. He takes my hand and guides me over to a small tent.
I shake my head, "Why is this here?"
"I set it up for us."
I look up at him disapprovingly, "Cause you were so sure I'd stay here."
"I was hoping."
"How come you know so much about this place if you've supposedly only been here for a few weeks?"
He shrugs. "I like exploring."
"Harry, it's the middle of he night. We have school tomorrow. We can't stay out here. Robert and Courtney must be worried sick."
"So?"
"I promised Robert I'd start being honest with him."
"Come on, Anna. Can't you say you just got caught up and are staying at Nat's house or something?"
"He would never let me stay out on a school night. I'm sorry, Harry." I look out over to the lake, "It is beautiful though. I wish I could stay."
"Maybe we could come back sometime."
I nod. "Maybe."
The ride home is silent. Harry's hand clasps mine as his other rests on the steering wheel. His eyes are firmly glued on the road.
"Are you staying at my place?"
He finally looks over at me for a second. "Do you want me to?"
"I want you to look at the road." I giggle and he smirks, slowly turning his head to face the road. "Yes. Of course I want you to."
"Then I will."
A smirk is still played on his face. Soon, he parks at the end of my neighborhood. "Okay, you go in. I'll wait about 10 minutes."
I nod and head out of his car.
When I reach my house and open the door, no lights are on. The room is pitch black.
Robert and Courtney must've went to sleep. That's surprising.
I head upstairs. When I get to my room, I flick the light switch on.
I scream, almost having a heart attack. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE, LUKE?" I look over to the quiffed haired blonde boy sitting on my bed.
"We need to talk."
"Get out of my room!" I exclaim. "This is crazy!"
"You were with him tonight, weren't you?" He slowly rises to his feet. "He's coming here, isn't he?"
"Luke, get out!"
"No, no. I think I'm gonna stay and wait for your little friend." His eyes are dark, holding no emotion, but anger.
"What's your problem?"
"I warned you about him, Anna! He's a fucking user! He's gonna hurt you, and I can't let that happen."
"You don't get to decide how I live my life."
"Anna, you think you know this guy, but you don't. You don't know what he's done."
"Then tell me!" I nearly scream. "Damnit, I'm sick of everyone telling me I need to be scared of him, but never giving me a reason to be. What has he done that's so bad?"
He stares at me, obviously struggling. "I can't tell you that. I'm sorry."
I sigh heavily, raking a hand through my hair. "Well then I can't stop loving him."
Luke's eyes meet mine once again. He's obviously heartbroken as he comes over. He is standing beside me. It looks like he's ready to walk out when he turns back to me.
"And maybe I can't stop loving you."
