It's been a week or so since I agreed to my parents searching for a guy for me. Since then my mother contacted our close relatives and friends to look for a good guy and makes me go through a selection process every evening after I come back from the office.
It's.......lovely how my mother wants the best for me but it's torture to sit through that session and see guys and not liking any one of them. I mean no offense........they are all good looking guys with a great education and they look nice......some scary though but then again I haven't seen one photo of a guy who made my heartbeat spike up.
Now I know all of those sparks and pumpkins and apples and roses are just Disney crap! But then I am a hopelessly hopeful romantic!
Even though a part of me; the logical part of me thinks that sparks and butterflies are just myths another part of me; a darn romantic! Is hoping for a miracle.....a spark.
With the number of photos I have seen in this week which I assure you are quite a lot lot, I don't think I would be able to find that and now a little pessimistic part in me is wondering maybe I should give up looking for those mythical and mystical feelings and rather just focus on looking at a decent guy.
Who knows what's in store for us?! Let's see.....
It's Tuesday today and I have a half-day office so I came back home and slept through the afternoon. I want to go to the temple once since it's been a while I have gone there.
I am not a daily temple-going person but I like going to the Shiv temple near my home once in a while. I have been going there with my family since I was a kid and I have always loved the peace and satisfaction I get every time I go there. So I made it a habit to go there often whenever I can.
I told Mamma that I am going and went to get ready. I chose an off-white Anarkali set with light mirror work on the bottom and the edge of the dupatta. I paired my outfit with brown sandals and put my hair in a messy bun with some strands falling on the side of my face. I applied a lip balm and kohl and some oxidized silver jhumkas and I am good to go!
I went down with humming to myself and called Mamma.
"Mamma I am going to the temple where is the basket of sweets you packed?" I asked going to the kitchen only to see her already coming out with the basket.
Ma has a habit of packing some homemade sweets and some fruits for Shivji every time we go to the temple. Since I am going now she gave it to me so that I can give it to Panditji.
"Here you go! Drive safe and come back fast okay?" She said handing me the basket and my scooter keys.
"Yes, Mom! Don't worry I'll be home soon!" I assured her before going out.
The temple is a 15-minute distance from my home so I reached there pretty quick.
I went inside after washing my legs outside and greeted the Panditji inside. I know him since I was a kid. He has been working here that long and is very close to my family.
