(24). If that kid dies so do you

I just need to cool off, this feeling in my stomach is not making my thinking any better. I know I'm a little self-centered to think Lily was "mine" but I can help it, that woman has maneuvered herself into my life and it's impossible to not feel that ping of jealousy when she is with that woman. She was fucking her like I wanted to be fucked.

"Miss Renesme, Mr. Mason has told me to inform you to meet him in his room"

A man in a suit says to me mid-workout scaring the shit out of me. "Now?"

"Yes mam"

"Ok, I will be on my way then," I say unstrapping the wrap on my wrists as I exit the gym.

"I wonder if Mason and Lilith are married?" I thought to myself as I enter his room.

"He will be with you shortly"

"So Ren are you still upset with me?" He peeps his head into the room as he enters fully. "Come on you can't stay mad at me forever"

"Mason how can I not be upset, you shot a little girl and is now in a coma because of it" I stride towards him, "If she fucking dies I don't give a shit about this mafia I will fucking kill you and your wife Lilith can bury you" I threatened and he just laughed.

"I don't know what's more hilarious, the fact that you think you can kill me or my sister being married to me?" He laughs again as he grips my neck tightening the grip. "Listen Princess I like your sass and all, it makes you great at your job, but–" he tightens his grip so I'm without oxygen, "don't ever fucking pass your place when you are talking to me got that" he kisses me and releases me from his grip.

"What the fuck Mason" I wipe my mouth. "Say what you want now, Mark my words if that kid dies so do you," I say as I walk towards the door to leave.

"Where the-" he tries to stand in my way. I simply punch him in the nose and he moved and I left the room.

Lilith is his sister.

She wasn't sleeping with him while fooling around with me then. Knowing that she just might have had real feelings for me is soothing. It kills me that it took me this long to realize what was in front of me the whole time. I need to talk to her alone.
My phone buzzes as I am in front of Lilith's room.

"Miss the little girl has woken up"

I quickly exit the estate and ride off towards the hospital, that little girl is my heart whether or not her dad likes me. She has to be ok.

"Sweety mommy had to go to work" I watch from the door frame as Jake brushes away the loose hair from her face.

"I don't want her I want aunti Ren" she cries as her dad squeezes her hand.

"Aunti Ren and daddy are–"

"Are just tired and thrilled to see you awake sweetie" I step inside the hospital room and snuggle into the bed beside Jenny. "Right Jake?"

He looks at me with a shocked expression before he storms out without saying a word.

"Is daddy going to be ok aunti Ren?" She peers up into my eyes.

"Aunti Ren won't be around anymore and your dad is a little upset with me.... it's not your fault so don't cry–" I watch as tears start to stream down her face." The person who did this to you was out for me....and I love you and don't want you to be in pain because of me. So I'm going to go away for a while ok sweetie?"

"Ok, mo-" she clasps her hands on her mouth. " I mean ok aunti Ren...I love you" she cuddles into my side as her eyes drift back into sleep.

"Take care of your dad for me" I kiss her on her temple and maneuver myself out of the bed and see Jake asleep in an armchair at the entrance to the room.

He rubs his eyes to clear his vision as he stands to his feet..."Why did you come back..I thought I made it pretty clear you were never to return"

"I know and this is truly the last time you will see me, I know you will never forgive me for the pain I have cost you. That little girl has planted herself in my heart over the past month or so that we have been together. I will always love that kid and that will never change even if we–" I gesture from me to him " never work out, if she ever needs me she can come to me for anything. Before I leave can I have a hug?" I wipe away a few stray tears as Jake stands with open arms. "Take care of that beautiful daughter of yours Jake and take care of yourself" I kissed him on the cheek and left.

I might watch them for a while just to make sure no one is looking to permanently kill her or Jake.

"Shit..shit.."

I collide with a woman who is now on the floor, I don't know if my vision is slightly blurred or what but as I am looking down I see the same blond woman with Lily just earlier. " Here let me help you, I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention" I outreach a hand to the bitch at my feet as I plaster a sincere smile on my face.

"Oh thank you–" she takes my hand to stable herself as she collects some files which had been strung out on the floor. " Aliyah.... I think I know you from somewhere" she looks me up and down. "Yes you work with Lilith"
She smiles.

"Yes, Renesme. Again so sorry about the mess" everything about her just angers me just the way she smiles is enough to make me want to rip her teeth from her mouth just so that she isn't that perfect anymore.

"Nice to meet you Ren but I have an appointment. Hope we can meet up sometime that would be fun, bye now" she waves goodbye as she descends onto the maternity ward.
