Pangilinan: Nung nalaman namin ang insidente, nagbigay na agad ng reinforcement. Nakipagugnayan na sa tactical command post ng SAF.
Pangilinan: Hindi kaya pumasok ng tanke sa kaloob-looban dahil swampy area ito at lulubog ang tanke.
Escudero: Maliwanag sa text ng Pang. Aquino na dapat kasama ang AFP.
Espina: I came to know about the ops on Jan 25, 5:30am. Gen. Purisima called me up: “Nakuha na si Marwan.” “Ganun ba? Magaling."
Gen. Pangilinan called up Gen. Orense but people came to him at around noon.
Sec. Roxas first found out about the #MamasapanoClash via SMS. He received it at 7:43am and forwarded it to the Pres. at 8:09am.
Escudero: Nagbigay po kayo ng kautusan sa Air Force? Gazmin: Wala po. Wala rin po akong narinig na kautusan galing sa Pres.
Gen. Pangilinan narrates that the 62nd Infantry attempted to reinforce the group trapped in the encounter. They only knew it was SAF.
Was there a sense of urgency? Roxas: We didn’t know that there was an operation. We couldn't put into context how many were at risk.
Misinformation - Purisma initially informed PNoy that there was mechanised artillery support, but this wasn't true bec place is swampy.
The troops were not informed on how many SAF soldiers were in the encounter, or that there was another battalion present.
