Wang Bao didn't know how to react and stood beside Nakai awkwardly. Seeing the man become so nervous made Pou clap his hands together and smile kindly.

"I was gonna make you work some hard labour alongside Nakai, but I'll have to find a new spot for you."

Pou led the way up the steep path to the deck of the ship, the crew were already getting things ready to set off to their next job. Pou led them down to the lower decks without bothering the other people around them. When they entered a hallway below deck, Pou started pointing to various doors and walked down the long corridor in front of them.

"The first lower deck is the cabins and kitchen. You two will share a room."

There were cabins on either side of the corridor they walked down, and Wang Bao was surprised when he peered into one with an open door; the rooms were much larger than he expected with two single beds, and a small cubicle that he guessed was a bathroom. The last cabin door was opened and Pou pointed inside. One large bed was inside, taking up most of the room. Opposite the bed was a hammock hanging from the ceiling, in the corner of the room there was a door that led to a small bathroom. The room was big enough for the two of them and Wang Bao was grateful to see a circular window, allowing some light to flood in. Wang Bao would be lying if he said he was happy that he would have to take the hammock as his new bed, but he knew that Nakai wouldn't be able to sleep in a single bed. After opening the door Pou turned around, talking as he did.

"Bao, is it okay for me to call that? You'll be working in the kitchen with Ma. She's partially deaf so she likes to scream and her food is also horrible. If you have any experience in the kitchen, I'm sure everyone would deeply appreciate it. If not, then as long as the food isn't some kind of greyish brown slop, everyone will love you."

Pou led them down the second long corridor that was opposite their room and into the eating area. A large wooden room was filled with one long table and plenty of chairs. It was only when you turned to the left that a brightly lit kitchen could be seen. When the three men walked over to the short counter separating the dining room and the kitchen, Wang Bao saw an older Dwarf woman with a saggy face walk around the kitchen, banging the pot and pan that sat on the stove with her spoon. One spoon was used to mix whatever was being cooked in the four pots and she started to sing loudly out of tune. Both Nakai and Wang Bao scrunched their noses at the sour smell and shrill singing while Pou tapped his foot in time, as if he enjoyed such torture early in the morning. Pou's dark fist tapped against the front counter loudly, trying to get Ma's attention. Ma slowly paused her singing and movements before turning to face Pou. His grin widened when Ma turned to him.

"I brought you a helper, his name is Bao."

Pou pointed down at Wang Bao before pushing him inside the kitchen. Wang Bao stood in the entrance with a shy expression while Ma rushed over, her small height only reached Wang Bao's hips, similar to the lady back at the inn. She eyed him seriously before turning to Pou, shouting loudly instead of talking.

"Can he really cook?"

"Of course."

Pou had no idea but answered smoothly before giving two thumbs up and walking away. Before both Giant's had left the dining area, Pou called over his shoulder to Wang Bao.

"We have three meals everyday, I'm betting my gut on you young Prince!"

Wang Bao froze at the title but Ma seemed to have not heard as she made her way back to her pots. Wang Bao followed behind slowly and looked inside but couldn't tell the difference between the four pots.

"What's on the menu?"

Ma turned to Wang Bao before pointing at her ear and shaking her head. Wang Bao repeated what he said but a few decibels louder. Ma gave him a stern expression before pointing to each pot and shouting.
