As soon as Wang Bao heard his brother's question, his heart quickened and he didn't know what to say, he knew Mr Liu had been curious about his belly as well but of course hadn't asked. Wang Xei watched the subtle changes in Wang Ba's face before standing up and walking the few steps over to Wang Bao. Seeing Wang Xei walk over, he felt an intense need to run away, with his food still clutched in his hand, Wang Bao jumped up and sprinted. He used his body's momentum to push his way past Wang Xei then out the open door. Wang Xei wasn't thrown to the ground but he was pushed aside and he grinned playfully before jogging out of the shack.
Wang Bao had stiff legs since he hadn't been able to move around in the shack and the light outside was much more intense than he had imagined, his vision was over saturated for a few seconds while his legs also tried to push his heavy body forward. His belly was protesting from the sudden exercise so he had to cup the heavy roundness to stop him from feeling like his stomach would break away from his flesh. Behind him, Wang Xei was closing in at a relaxed jog and his laugh made Wang Bao dash to the side, running into a dense area of reeds. Wang Xei humoured Wang Bao with his little cat and mouse game by slowing down to walk into the dense reed area. The sound of running water became louder the closer they stepped to the nearby river and Wang Bao struggled to walk properly since the ground was muddy. He tried to move quickly along the bank, using the sound of the water to cover his heavy breathing and loud feet but his legs were completely knackered. Before he could become too tired, Wang Bao crouched down to finish his sandwich and look around.
Various shades of green and brown surrounded all of his vision aside from the clear water that was running in front of him, because of the water, he could only hear faint sounds of bird singing, he felt he had yet to hear a silent second since being brought here. The heat of the sun was a little intense for Wang Bao after spending so long indoors and he dipped his hand into the freezing water before patting the dampness onto his red cheeks. Unknown to him, Wang Xei was sitting behind him, watching silently. Inside Wang Xei, he had the urge to push Wang Bao into the river just to see how he would react to the ice cold water surround his small body, these type of urges were what drove him to do horrible things to Wang Lei growing up and they were hard to ignore once they entered his mind.
Wang Xei continued watching Wang Bao sit on the river bank until his fingers began to twitch, once the urge had turned into an unbearable itch, he moved his arm with blurring speed and watched as Wang Bao was shoved towards the clear moving water. The feeling of falling caused Wang Bao to scream in shock but his voice was quickly silenced once he felt the blood chilling water encase his entire body. The cold was so shocking to his body that he stiffened and forgot how to swim, Wang Xei waited since he wanted to see Wang Bao reach the surface and gasp for air but after a while, Wang Bao hadn't resurfaced and the itch in his chest turned into one of anxiety.
Before he could process what his body was doing, Wang Xei dived into the water in front of him, swimming down to where he could see Wang Bao. His long arms reached out and wrapped around Wang Bao's chest and under his belly so as to not hurt him before he pushed up from the rocky river bed. The current moved them down the river but not fast enough to be dangerous. Once Wang Bao felt his head clear from the water, he coughed violently while struggling to breathe, his body had remained stiff but it was also trembling to the point of pain. Wang Xei stayed with the current but swam diagonally until they reached the bank. By the time Wang Xei had climbed up the bank, Wang Bao had fainted. His body was almost blue from the cold, making Wang Xei almost regret what he had done. Before the slight regret could turn into guilt he pulled Wang Bao up into his arms and made his way back to his house. Along the way, when he passed the small shack, he called out to Mr Liu.
"Old man, follow me."
Mr Liu had seen the saturated sleeping Wang Bao in Wang Xei's arms and once he heard his name called, he didn't waste time to wonder if it was a good idea to follow or not. When Wang Xei was close enough to his small house, he kicked open the door and made a beeline for the bathroom. Behind him, Mr Liu was trying to get information about what had happened.
