Late the next morning, Wang Bao was in a peaceful deep sleep when he was suddenly awakened by an intense sharp pain in his back. Usually Wang Bao would be able to bear with the back pain he had been experiencing the last few days, but this felt entirely different, as if his insides were being both squeezed tight and ripped apart. In order to not wake Nakai, Wang Bao curled into a foetal position while clenching his jaw. The shooting pain was coming in waves every few seconds, making it hard to become accustomed to, and he couldn't help but let out a small whine. The small sound that came out of Wang Bao's mouth was enough to stir Nakai in his sleep, and without properly waking up, Wang Bao felt Nakai rub his back gently in an attempt to soothe whatever pain he was feeling. The small act was able to help a little, and it wasn't long before Wang Bao could relax enough to breathe properly, but barely two seconds later, Wang Bao felt his stomach muscles begin to cramp. Because the cramps came on so suddenly, Wang Bao couldn't help but cry out in pain, causing Nakai to wake up and ask what was causing him such discomfort.
It was only once the cramp had subsided that Wang Bao could answer Nakai, but first he spread out to lay on Nakai's chest comfortably. While still a little breathless, Wang Bao finally replied.
"It was just a cramp, it's gone now. Did I wake you?"
Nakai was more concerned about Wang Bao rather than being woken up, and he started to gently massage Wang Bao's stomach as he asked.
"Does this happen often? I've never seen you have one before."
Wang Bao shook his head; it was actually rare for him to experience any form of cramping, and he couldn't even remember the last time he had experienced one. Because of the rude awakening, Wang Bao's entire body was covered in a light film of sweat, but there was nowhere for him to bathe since he could hear everyone else was awake and walking around the small campsite. Since he couldn't clean himself, Wang Bao was planning on laying with Nakai a little longer, when the call for breakfast could be heard clearly. With a loud pained groan, Wang Bao crawled out of the tent with Nakai close behind him.
At breakfast, Alo talked about the short tide that had emptied the pool the previous night. With a definite way out of the mines, everyone's spirits began to rise; so much so that everyone wanted time to move quicker.
. . . . . . .
Despite the feeling that time was moving at a snail pace, night time eventually came and only Nakai's tent was left standing. Everything else had been packed away, but with Wang Bao's back pain and stomach cramps worsening throughout the day, Nakai wanted to give Wang Bao one last massage before they left. Although they could have done this in the open, Wang Bao wanted to keep some of his dignity, and refused to have the massage done unless it was inside the tent. Although Wang Bao was set on keeping his pride, as soon as he was laying on his stomach and felt Nakai's rough hands knead the hard knots in his back, he couldn't stop a long string of profanities and groans from escaping his mouth. Like usual, Nakai ignored Wang Bao's sloppy attempts at pushing him away, and continued with the massage, moving down to Wang Bao's legs. Had there been more time, Nakai would have gone back over Wang Bao's back, but Alo tapped on the tent door impatiently, warning them there was ten minutes before the tide changed. The last thing Wang Bao wanted to do was run through a wet rocky tunnel, but he picked that over spending another night sleeping on the uneven rocky ground in a mine.
While Wang Bao crawled out of the tent, Nakai worked quickly to pack their things away then pulled down their tent once Wang Bao was sitting with Mika and Luka. The two brothers could see Wang Bao's face was covered in a light layer of sweat, while his skin had turned a sickly pale grey colour, and they quickly became concerned over his condition. Fearing that Wang Bao would collapse at any second, Mika gave Wang Bao a bottle of water while asking.
