Funny how a new hairdo can make everything better, and boy did I feel better flaunting my bright red refreshed lob down the street; I was on fire. My overprotective mum was finally allowing me out for longer as long as I kept in contact every so often, which I was more than happy to do. Figuring some gentle exercise would be beneficial, I walked most places, only opting for a car if needed. I decided to pop into the local tech store to check out some potential new laptops.

Checking out mostly overpriced and under spec machines, I was disappointed they didn't have my old trusted Zenbook, its demise a punch to the gut. Though the shop was huge, maybe I would get lucky and find a replacement as I continued around this megastore tech shop filled with your greatest tech desires.

Uh oh, no, not here.

Unfortunately, the familiar feeling of breathlessness and dizziness began to creep up on me, and I found a corner quiet corner to take a few deep breaths, hoping the episode would pass. As the minutes passed, I felt myself trying to keep control, but I became more aware of something else; I was being watched.

I scanned around me every so often, unable to shake the feeling off but unable to see anyone suspicious though I felt the need to change my location in the store. I thought I was becoming overly paranoid again and felt my stress levels rising, not helping my current state as I struggled to breathe; I needed to leave quickly.

I headed for the exit, almost making it to the door when suddenly a hand grabbed my wrist; though the touch was gentle, I spun around to face my stalker.

''You-'' I lost my breath.

''Hey, Bea.''

''Mark, what the fuck are you doing here?!'' I growled, feeling my anger boil within seconds, snatching my arm away from him.

''How are you feeling?'' He sheepishly asked.

''Currently furious,'' I sneered, keeping my voice low not to draw attention.

''You wouldn't reply to my messages, so I thought I'd fly here so that we could talk-''

''You flew all the way here to talk to me?'' I questioned wide-eyed.

''Yes.''

''Well, I'm afraid you've wasted your time and money. We've split up.'' I disclosed, beginning to walk away from him.

''Don't be like that, please I just want to talk.'' He claimed, retaking hold of my arm.

Pulling my arm out of his hold and backing away from him.

''I'm not doing this here or anywhere.'' Informing him his actions were not going to work, becoming visibly distressed, a few onlookers started to watch the situation.

''Bea, please just let me try-.''

''NO!!!''

With his eagerness and terrible timing, my anxiety levels going into overload; to make things worse, I could feel my fainting episode starting. Not turning my back to him, I back away, only for him to keep closing the space between us.

''Don't touch me!'' I shouted as he tried once again.

I kept stepping back, he was about to follow but hesitated, and unknowingly I bumped into someone. I stood frozen in place.

''She said get away from her, I suggest you do as asked''. A deep masculine voice growled.

I turned to see none other than an officer, the officer from the mall the other day. His scent once again invading my nostrils, sending a shiver down my spine, but that was the least of my problems right now; I was going into a faint.
