The darkness of deep black and blue hues of the night sky illuminated the stars twinkling as if dancing to a silent rhythm beyond our knowledge. It was a picture-perfect night as we lay hidden in the fields of barley, gently swaying in the slight warm breeze.
''What about that one?'' I questioned, pointing to the sky.
An amused chuckle hit my ears ''Again, a desolate wasteland, nothing but rocks and sand.'' Barricade responded.
''It's quite boring here, beautiful but boring.'' I mused. ''Where are there others?'' I pondered.
''Way beyond what your optics or science can see.'' He whispered closely.
I hummed, thinking it over as I rolled onto my chest on Barricade's chassis, meeting his red optics shining brightly. ''Is there any other life forms you've met?''
''Some, but not many completely different and more advanced than humans, having conquered space travel before you even evolved. Space stations, intergalactic travel is all normal in some parts of galaxies, but I doubt they'd have any interest coming to the Milky Way.'' He answered, placing his hand around me gently.
''Do you think some of them are watching us?''
''Possibly, after all, we were.''
''I'd of loved to have been born in a world advanced enough to see it, travel the stars and new planets, people and cultures in would like magic.''
''And hostile, though places like you imagine exist, so does its dangers.''
''Of course, what's life without it.''
Suddenly Barricade sat up before a firmer grasp had me securely as he stood fully, placing me on his other hand prompting me to stand. ''What are you doing?'' I asked. I didn't think his optics could hold such a range of emotion, but they had a mischievous and amused glint to them.
''Just watch.'' He raised his hand to his head, tapping once, and suddenly light surrounded us, the barley field we stood replaced with virtual reality humans could only dream. I stood frozen in awe, taking in every detail I could for safekeeping within my memory, ''wow, this is amazing!'' I beamed, flapping my hands, unable to contain myself. Unlike any space thriller game or movie, you could imagine diversity, buildings and a world beyond what any human eye had seen.
''You said you wanted to see.'' I could practically hear his smugness.
''This is?-''
''Home, yes.''
''I can't deny you're a pretty cool big guy,'' I teased.
''The coolest?.''
''Yeah, I'll give you that one.'' I winked.
In a flash, the hologram disappeared; I was back in the field as we laid down one again placed on his chassis. Seemingly pleased with our interaction, he brought me closer to his face running the tip of his finger slowly down the side of my body and failing to suppress the shudder down my spine with his optics entirely focused on me; he noticed.
''You said something that night.''
''Hmm?''
''When you fought back that pitiful human, you said something.''
His tone was serious yet held an undertone of suggestiveness as if he was testing the waters.
''You said you wanted me to touch you.'' A single finger ran back up my thigh again, coming to a stop at my waist.
Putting on my most confident smile and flirty eyes, I answered. ''Yes,'' Biting my lip.
I wasn't going to deny the truth that I was hot for his touch, be it in holoform or bot mode; in fact, I think this way was more arousing. All those alien romances books had rubbed off on me.
