''Morning, beautiful'' Mum smiled, embracing me with a gentle hug.

''Morning, mum'' I smiled, returning her love before going back to my breakfast.

''You've been up late the past few nights; what have you been doing?''

''Had trouble sleeping, so I gamed for a while, having a little competition with someone.'' I smiled.

''Well, at least you're socializing and not putting your body under stress; you're still healing, you know. So are you sure going today is a good idea?''

''Mum, I'm helping dad for a few hours. It'll do me good,'' I assured her.

''Please rest if you feel pain; I just think it's too soon for you to start working.'' She stated.

''Mum, I'm going crazy not doing anything, plus I need the money. My therapist said I could if I feel ready, and I do; if I'm struggling, I will stop, please trust me.''

She looked at me hesitantly, seeing the internal battle she was having, but she needed to let go and continue rehabilitating; I wasn't a child and knew myself well enough to know if I could cope.

''It's only three days a week for a start-''

''She'll be fine, woman leave her be. Besides, she's my best concrete layer.'' Dad interrupted, walking in winking at me, reassuring mother now outnumbered, who nodded in defeat.

Walking out the front door, I walked to the car but stopped when my eyes met Sam's, who quickly ushered me over.

''Did you get the note?'' He whispered, looking around nervously.

''Yes, what on earth is going on?'' I asked.

''You still don't remember?''

''Remember what?''

''The aliens?!'' He shuddered.

''Eh?'' I deadpanned.

''That cop, he's an alien robot who used you, staying at your house and later kidnapped you. You disappeared until the highway crash.'' He said deathly serious.

Not knowing what to say, a series of laughs came out of me but stopped when his expression didn't lessen.

''Aliens?'' I questioned.

''Yes, huge alien robots locked in a war of good and evil, and the one you know is one of worst of them.'' He expressed with great caution, still uneasy and alert in our environment.

I couldn't even react; it sounded beyond insane and beyond the reality of Earth in which we live.''

''Listen, Bea, you don't remember, but that Decepticion forced you to go with him, we don't know why or what he did. A secret agency knew you were involved and tried to catch up but failed, and they deemed you a threat like us to National security; if they hadn't been disbanded and you lost your memory, you'd be locked up by now.'' He revealed.

I swallowed hard at the seriousness of his tone and fear in his eyes, as insane as it sounded and however unlikely it seemed he was deadly serious. Then, unable to process any more of his words, my dad's voice broke me out of our conversation, and I followed my dad's car until Sam grabbed my arm gently.

''Please stay away from him, I don't know what he wants with you now, but he's violent and cruel, even among his own kind. Bee and I couldn't believe when we saw you get into him.'' Sam begged.

''Get into him?!'' I quivered.

''The holoform he uses is just alien technology to appear human; his real body is the car itself. They're transformers. I know it sounds crazy, but please stay away from him.'' Sam urged me.
