Seokjin pov
I woke up so early, and even threw my phone because of the blaring alarm. Waking up early is the hardest thing. Today is my second day in the Uni. I was nervous since it's my first time as a professor. But last day went just well, the students were all cooperative and even the staffs too.
I thought Director would be mad because of me reaching late on the first day itself. Luckily he was understanding and even joined me in complaining about the traffic.
I poured the milk onto my bowl of cereal. I love to cook but since I didn't get enough time to settle in, I didn't buy enough supplies for the kitchen. My kitchen's barren and I need to fill it up. I might have to go for grocery shopping this evening. I ran to my car right after breakfast.
The ride to Uni takes only fifteen to twenty minutes if there's no traffic, obviously. Mr. Wesley was there in the department room. I got close with him pretty fast. Let's just say I get along really well with people.
"Jace, you free now?" I waved at him. He was chilling on his desk sipping hot coffee.
"Hey Seokjin. Yeah I'm free. Don't you have class?"
"Yup gotta go. I came here to keep my stuffs here." I placed my bag and a few files in my desk drawer.
"Ok then. And don't forget to tell students about the research assignment."
"Got it. Bye." With that I left to my first classroom for the day.
Students were all peaked with doubts when I filled them in about their research criteria. Well honestly I can't complain, they all must be intrigued to know who their mentor for the rest of their time here in the University is gonna be. I know I will be.
The time went by fast enough and I was about to exit the class when I heard shuffling and grumbling.
I looked around and saw her, the one who I met the first day, trying to unzip her bag which got stuck on her sleeve.
So I went near her to know if she was okay and also because it was time for the next set of students to enter this room.
I knew she was taken aback when she saw me. By that time she has already relieved her sleeve.
"Are you okay?" I thought I should speak something rather than stay dumb.
"Yeah, it just got stuck." She pointed to her bag with a raised brow.
"I didn't think you were a student. I didn't expect to see a student in front of Director's office on the first day." I spoke to break the silence.
It was true I really thought she was a staff or someone else from the outside. She looked really young but also gave off a vibe of maturity. Not like some kids in her class who opens their mouth just to hit on others.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better I didn't think you were a professor either Mr. Kim." She chuckled showing off her deep dimples on both side of her cheeks.
Someone interrupted whom I assumed to be her friend, because she was also there in my class. She was quite startled when she saw me, since she didn't expect me here.
"Eliza, what are you...oops...Mr. Kim." I smiled at her friend before I heard her saying, she's going to leave. She flashed a smile that summoned her dimples again. And I smiled back, nodding my head.
This was the first time I noticed her name. 'Eliza', I mumbled to myself as she and her friend ,whose name also unfamiliar to me, disappeared from my view.
After the tiring classes without any single break, I went home to take some rest then headed to the grocery store. I had no choice but to shop today itself.
It felt good to wear something comfy. I was wearing a simple hoodie and sweat pants. It's just shopping no need for dressing up, and I will look good anyways.
I was on the snacks aisle looking for some chips when I saw a familiar figure. I squinted my eyes to see clearly, it was Eliza. She was dropping two packs of Doritos and Cheetos in her cart. I thought I should say a 'hi' atleast.
She saw me coming to her and I was about to wave when she just turned her head and went the other way not even bothering to acknowledge my waving hand on the air. I lost sight of her after that. Strange. I was sure she saw me. Maybe she is also one of those students who ignores their teachers once outside the school.
So I shrugged it off like it was nothing but I can't deny that it disappointed me a little bit. A teeny tiny bit. After a thirty minutes or more of walking I finished the shopping duty and went straight home to finally sleep, which I totally deserved.
