"What?" I groaned hearing the annoying endless mumbling beside me for the hundredth time. I was checking out my latest post in instagram and the kiddo beside me was nudging and grunting on my right side of the couch. He was behaving like a 5 year old who was denied from having his candies for halloween.
"You have been smiling like that for a few minutes now." Seokjin pouted while throwing his hands in air as if he was having a tantrum.
"And? Don't you like my smile?" I nonchalantly replied before returning my attention back to the phone in my hand.
"I love your smile." He was quite firm about it and then continued. "What are you looking at?"
"This." I showed him the cute puppy's picture that I posted. "You really need to start an instagram account." I informed.
"You have been spending a lot of time with that guy lately." He knitted his brows in a frown.
"It was not just me. Hannah and Jimin were there. He is a pretty fun guy to hang out with too." I shrugged and stated the obvious.
We all have been meeting up with each other lately. Jimin was totally in love with his pup Ash and he was the one always pulling us out to hang out with Nate so that he could play with the pup.
Seokjin did not reply he just pressed his lips forming a straight line as if he was not impressed with my reply. Before I could say something the calling bell rang signalling that my brother was here.
We both were dressed up pretty nicely than our usual lazy outfits because my brother, sister-in-law and my nephew is visiting us together for the first time. They came here in town to visit William, Jenna's father aka my University's director.
They thought of dropping by here since Jenna, Jayden and I have not seen each other since I step foot on this country. And also they have not met Seokjin either. He was pretty excited to meet Jayden because every time I video call him, Seokjin used to be near me too.
Jayden loves Seokjin maybe a little more than he loves me, which makes me a teeny tiny jealous. I mean come on, I knew him way before he knew him. That aside, I am actually hoping they get along well with each other.
We both got off the couch to greet the small happy family before us. The moment we opened the door I saw Jay reaching out to me with his tiny little baby hands. Without wasting any moment I scooped him into my arms and held him while occasionally tickling him just to make him break out into his tiny little addictive giggles.
We all sat across the living room couches catching up with our life and all those boring stuffs. Seokjin sat beside me while Jay was still snuggled up on my arms. Every now and then he glances at Seokjin for attention. He was too shy to go to his arms but could not stay away from him either.
Just like I thought Seokjin was really good with kids. And now Jay was in his arms not even sparing a look at his parents. He was in his own fantasy world, in the arms of his superhero. Yes, superhero, that is what he thinks of Seokjin. Every time something goes wrong he rushes to his hands to make the problems go away.
"Will he even miss me once I leave this room?" Evan spoke sadly his eyes looking jealously at the man who was playing with his first born.
"I don't think he is going to even remember you." I chuckled earning a glare from Evan.
The best thing about having Seokjin with me is that my brother and family doesn't have to eat restaurant food or my terribly cooked food.
Because the table was filled with the tastiest and scrumptious homemade food ever.
We had beef, chicken, noodles, rice, desserts, the list goes on. I helped him too...barely. I really tried until he kicked me out of the kitchen for nearly burning the house down. What can I say, that is my area of expertise.
But I took an oath that I will learn to cook and he is going to be surprised and awestruck when he sees the delicious dishes I made and plates it before him.
We were all seated on the dining room, except for me. I took the charge of feeding our little Jayden. He couldn't handle the spicy foods as he is only two.
Feeding a baby is hard, but feeding my sister when she was a teen was harder. I had to run around the house just to make her eat and make her come out of the stereotypical beliefs of the 'perfect body'. Yes, I had to take up the role of a mom because the actual person could not find the time and strength.
So shoving a tiny spoon of baby food to Jay is easy peasy lemon squeezy like someone great said.
Finally after that task my next duty was to get him to sleep. I got a gap in between and had my food, only to be pulled out of the table later because Jay wanted me to carry him.
He was unusually clingy tonight and I don't mind it either. I missed him like crazy.
"Thereee." He persisted, pointing at the door that lead to the backyard. He didn't even let me take a blanket from the couch. He knew I was weak for his big doe eyes and he used it really well.
Now we were standing on the backyard with him snuggled in my arms trying to sleep. It was freezing. I somehow managed to remove my jacket and cover him with it.
The tank top I was wearing was pushing me on the verge of turning my skin to blue. But when I try to move from my spot he will stir and squirm threatening to cry. And let me say his cry is not good at all. It literally has the power to turn you deaf.
Just while I was planning to return to others and get ready to hear an ear splitting cry, a warm fuzzy blanket was wrapped around me.
I tilted my head and saw a pair of warm hands engulfing me in the blanket along with him. His smile was so sweet and contagious, that it made my heart flutter.
The warmth from his body was more heated than what the piece of clothing could give me.
"Thank you." I mumbled quietly careful enough to not wake the sleeping baby.
"I thought you could use some warmth." He whispered leaning in closer to my ear. His deep raspy voice send shivers down my spine. I felt a weird sensation inside my stomach. An unfamiliar but beautiful feeling.
If a third person sees us, they will see a couple in love, with their baby.
Love. Love, that was a word that accidentally slipped out of my mouth. I was not sure if I really meant it. How would I know? I have never known what love felt like. If the feeling that is burning inside me is what love is, then I would like to know more, feel more and embrace it more. Never let go of this, for it is the best I have ever felt.
