"Megumi, you're bleeding again," you say as you quickly rush to Megumi's side. You grab his face to try and get a better look at the cut on his forehead, but he slaps your hand away.
"It's fine Y/N. Stop being so concerned about me," Megumi says as...
"Thanks for your help today Y/N, get home safe!" Your friend says as the two of you part ways. You had stayed at school a couple of hours longer to help some kids in your class study. The sun was already beginning to set and the air had grown chillier.
It's been a while since you last saw Megumi. He'd come to class now and then but mainly just to grab the homework or hand it in before leaving. Strangely enough, he also seems to have the highest grade in the class so far.
It's no shocker to you that most of the kids in your class hate him. The guys have noticed that some of the girls have formed a crush on him, so Megumi's constantly being challenged to assert dominance or something.
"Nothing much has changed since middle school huh?" You say to yourself as you hear a group of guys laughing to the right of you. You slow down as you contemplate whether or not to find out what's going on. That's when you hear it.
The sound of a guy crying.
Your feet seem to move on their own as you rush around the corner and see a group of guys surrounding one boy who's on the floor. It's clear that the kid is a freshman, the four others look to be seniors.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" You yell as the boys turn to look at you confused. You walk over to them with your head held high as the ring leader steps up to you. His long blonde hair falls past his shoulders and his dark eyes glare at you amused.
"Stay out of it sweetheart. This doesn't concern you," he says condescendingly as his three other friends continue to kick at the guy on the ground.
"I don't care, there's no reason for four of you to be beating up one guy," you say as the blonde raises an eyebrow at you. He reaches for your face and grabs it harshly as he smirks.
"I like your attitude, you're Y/N right? I've heard about you, a goodie two shoes who likes to help people right?" The guy asks as you slap his hand away and glare at him.
"What if I am? Just leave the kid alone and go about your business," you say as the guy steps closer to you. You instinctively take steps backwards, not realizing that he's pinning you against the wall.
"I like you Y/N. Tell you what, we'll leave the wimp alone and play with you instead. How about it?" The guy asks as his friends chuckle like anime delinquents behind him. At least they left the kid alone.
"Piss off," you say as the guy smirks and looks you up and down.
"What are you gonna do to stop me?" He asks lowly as he places a hand on your arm. You quickly lift your opposite hand and slap the guy across the face making his head twist to the side. His tongue pokes out of the mouth and licks a cut you seem to have created on his bottom lip.
The guy chuckles sinisterly before looking back at you with wild eyes. He lifts his hand and you close your eyes and flinch as you wait for impact. However, you don't feel anything happen. You slowly open your eyes to see someone holding the blonde's arm back.
"Touch her again and I'll kill you," Megumi says darkly before twisting the guy's arm and pushing him backwards. Megumi steps in front of you as the other four guys take a step back.
"Hey JD, that's Fushiguro. We shouldn't mess with him," one of the guys tells the blonde as he glares at Megumi.
"I don't care, there's one of him and four of us. We need to teach him and that bitch a lesson," The blonde says as he looks at Megumi unimpressed.
"What did you call her?" Megumi asks slowly, his voice deepening to a chilling tone. You feel a shiver run down your back as Megumi takes a step forward, you instinctively grab his hand to prevent him from getting into a fight.
For some reason, you believe that if you let him go those guys would get seriously hurt. Though, you're still unsure of how Megumi even found you in the first place.
"Megumi I'm fine. Just let it go," you plead with him in a whisper as Megumi glances back at you. His eyes soften once he meets your eyes. However, your eyes widen as a rock is thrown at Megumi's head. You watch in shock and horror as Megumi begins bleeding.
He looks away from your eyes as you feel a dark energy wrap around him. He's pissed.
"Y/N, let go," Megumi demands as you sigh and release his arm. You tried to save them, but they set their fate. As soon as you release Megumi he turns to glare at the four boys whose expressions are quickly turned into fearful ones.

"I warned you," Megumi says before rushing over to the guys who try and fail to fight back. You watch in a mixture of awe and fear as Megumi easily fights all four guys at once. He's been keeping up with the training his dad gave him.
Still, it's frightening how quick and calculated his movements are. Though there's also something attractive about it...
"Megumi, that's enough," you say as Megumi pauses. He drops his hand that's now covered in blood, the blood of the other guys that is. They're all covered in blood and bruises, meanwhile, Megumi remains unscathed minus the blood on his head from the rock.
"Get out of my sight before I change my mind," Megumi threatens as the four boys quickly run off. You slowly walk over to Megumi who sucks his teeth and begins walking off.
"Wait! Megumi!" You call out as Megumi whips around and stares at you, his eyes still emotionless. When he gets like this you can't help but remember how frightening his dad was.
"What the hell were you doing Y/N? You try to stand up for others but can't even defend yourself?" Megumi says harshly as you open your mouth to respond but can't find the right words.
"I'm sorry, you're right. I just don't like sitting around and doing nothing. Is your head alright?" You ask softly as Megumi sighs and places a hand on your head. He hasn't spoken to you in days, but suddenly you feel safe.

"I'm fine, are you alright?" Megumi asks in a surprisingly gentle tone. You nod slightly as Megumi smiles, the sight makes your heart flutter. You haven't seen Megumi's smile in years. You forgot how much it'd brighten up his face when he did.
"Good, now get home safe idiot," he says before releasing your head and walking off without another word. You lift your hand to stop him but find yourself letting him go.
