Shattered: A Fushiguro Megumi FF

You and Megumi find yourselves once again standing in front of your house. After a long night of hanging out the two of you awkwardly dance around the fact that you'd been on a date.

"I have an event coming up at my school soon, so I'll be busy training for it. Just giving you a heads up in case I respond less frequently," Megumi informs you as you smile sadly. You wish that he could be completely honest with you about what's going on, but if he's bound to secrecy there's nothing you can do.

"Understood. Do your best OK? You told me you got stronger so don't lose alright?" You say encouragingly as Megumi just stares down at you. You watch in confusion as Megumi suddenly takes a step closer to you.

"Y/N..."

"Yeah?" You respond in a whisper as Megumi leans closer to you. He cups your face gently as your heart speeds up. Your eyes slowly begin to flutter shut as Megumi's lips inch closer to yours.

"Megumi! Y/N!" You hear a familiar voice scream as your eyes jump open. You and Megumi quickly jump apart as Itadori and Kugisaki rush towards the two of you.

"Are you guys serious right now?" Megumi asks as you feel a heavy presence appear behind you.

"There's a curse here! Get Y/N out of here!" Kugisaki screams as you get a violent chill up your spine. You hear an ungodly moan behind you as you slowly turn around and find yourself rendered speechless as a grey creature reaches out for you.

You try to run but the creature grabs you just as Megumi turns around and sees you. His face is shock-ridden as you're lifted off the ground. You feel a dread hit the bottom of your stomach as you reach out for Megumi.

"Megu...mi," you manage to get out as the creature squeezes your body tightly. You let out a sharp gasp as the creature chuckles. Whatever this thing is, judging by the response of Itadori and Kugisaki they know what it is.

Did Megumi fight one of these things that day at the mall? Was it a "curse" that drove him to the brink of death? Your mind wanders to the darkest pits of your mind as you feel your body being crushed slowly.

"Y/N!" You hear Megumi scream as the creature continues to squeeze you until tears well up in your eyes. You're almost certain that your ribs are broken at this point.

Am I gonna die? No. I can't. I have to tell Megumi how I feel.

The regrets in your life rapidly flash before your eyes as it becomes harder to breathe. You can feel your body shaking as if the creature were running off with you somewhere. The world around you keeps cutting in and out in frames.

You suddenly hear the loud screech of a bird as you manage to keep your eyes open and see a large brown bird clawing at the creature's hand. Is it trying to save you? You don't understand what's going on.

"Y/N, hold on!" You hear Megumi's voice yell to you, but it sounds so distant. Your mind grows foggy as the world fades to black.

"Megumi, you're bleeding again," you say as you quickly rush to Megumi's side. You grab his face to try and get a better look at the cut on his forehead, but he slaps your hand away.

"It's fine Y/N. Stop being so concerned about me," Megumi says as he stubbornly shoves his hands in his pockets and tries to walk away from you. Megumi always tried to take care of himself, even when he knows he could use help. It pisses you off.

This time, however, you grab Megumi's arm to slow him down before pushing him against the brick wall to your right. You slam your hand on the wall to keep him trapped in place.

Megumi's bright blue eyes stare at you in shock as you glare at him. You quickly realize that you pulled a reverse kabedon, but you maintain your composure. Megumi opens his mouth to say something but you speak up first.

"Idiot, you're always getting into fights. If I don't take care of you, who will?" You ask before realizing that you're no longer in your body. You're staring at your ten-year-old self wondering why you're suddenly remembering this moment.

Is this when I first fell in love with him?

You ask yourself as you watch ten-year-old Megumi place a hand on your head. This was the first time he'd ever done that, but each time he had done so after it always filled you with joy. It was his silent way of telling you that he cared even when he was acting like a jerk to others.

"Your so cute Y/N," ten-year-old Megumi says as your eyes widen. You watch as he casually walks off leaving your younger self stunned. You don't recall him ever saying that, but hearing it makes tears pour down your cheeks.

How long had you been neglecting your feelings for Megumi? Will you lose your chance to tell him the truth?

"Domain expansion! Chimera shadow garden!" you hear Megumi's voice yell as your eyes slowly open. Around you, disgusting black rain falls as you feel something grab you and pull you away from where the creature and Megumi stand fighting.

Your body is too weak to move, but you watch in shock as Megumi faces off with the creature. However, he doesn't look like the Megumi you know at all. He laughs uncontrollably as him and two of the birds from earlier attack the creature.

The sight shakes you to your core, but a smaller part of you can't help but think that Megumi looks unbelievably hot while fighting.

You gasp sharply as the creature suddenly flings what looks like a spear of light at Megumi. It pierces through his hand but you watch as Megumi's body turns into a mush of black shadows. The birds continue to attack the creature but the energy from earlier radiates off of it.

You close your eyes tightly and wince as a flash of light explodes. You slowly open your eyes to find the creature being pieced through the chest with a larger wolf looking dog. The creature suddenly vanishes before your eyes as you gasp sharply and feel arms wrap around you.

"Y/N, I'm so sorry. Just stay with me OK? We'll get you help," you hear Megumi say weakly as you look up at him through blurry eyes. Megumi's whole face is covered in blood, the sight makes you reach out to his face and cry.

Your mind still can't fully process what you just saw. All you know is that it must've been incredibly draining for Megumi.

"You got hurt...because of me," You say as Megumi grabs your hand and shakes his head. You can see the fatigue in his eyes, but as usual he keeps trying to be strong.

"No. You got hurt because of me," Megumi says as you find it harder to keep your eyes open.

"Megumi...I'm tired..."

"No! Don't go to sleep Y/N! I...I..."

"I love you too Megumi," you finish for him with a sly smirk as you stop fighting the darkness.
