(Keith's POV)

I woke up to the sound of an alarm blaring, which of course is a terrible start to my day.
"Everyone up!" Yelled Allura, "Zarkon's attacking!"
I hopped out of bed and grabbed my jacket, running towards the bridge.
"The castle's about to be destroyed!" She continued, "Go, go, go! We need Voltron now!"
Then I heard Y/N's voice of distress, which is something I hate hearing.
"Hurry," She yelled, "We can't survive much longer! Keith! Shiro! Help!"
And with that, I ran faster than I've ever ran before. I wouldn't let anything happen to her. I needed to help. That's when Coran's voice came onto the intercom.
"Oh no!" He yelled, "Allura's dead! Awww it's horrible! Her head fell off! Wait, her severed head is trying to speak to me. What is it, Allura's head? What are your final words?"
And that's when I tuned him out and slowed down, knowing this was all a joke.

I broke into the bridge, seeing everyone completely fine. This made me angry. Especially at Y/N. Why would she do that? She smiled at me laughing a bit and I couldn't help but look away absolutely furious. I know I shouldn't have. She really didn't do anything wrong, but she worried me.

(Y/N's POV)

"Coran..." Said Allura.
"Yes princess? I'm listening."
"It's over."
"Ohh I know," He yelled, still acting, "If only Voltron had been formed." He finally looked up and saw the Paladins standing before him. "Oh!" He yelled, "Time!"
I smiled at Keith and couldn't help but laugh a bit at his angered expression. He turned away from me, his face staying exactly the same. What had I done to make him so angry?
"I guess this isn't an actual attack." Said Shiro.
"And it's a good thing it wasn't," Said Allura, "Because it took you... Coran?"
"75 degrees," He said, "Oh! Sorry, no, this is a meat thermometer."
"However long it was," She continued, "It was too long. You must always be ready to do battle with Zarkon. Look at you! Only Shiro is in uniform. Keith, Pidge, Hunk, where are your bayards? And where is Lance?"
That's when he walked into the bridge, pajamas on with matching blue lion slippers, a cup of water, and a fresh, clean face.
"Good morning, everybody!" He said, still yawning, "What's going on?"
"Coran, Y/N, and I have been up for hours getting the castle back in order. We had to run a test on the alarms and we decided to test you as well. Guess which one failed."
"Hey!" Hunk said defensively, "You got to sleep for ten thousand years man. Monday night I was on Earth. Now I've flow through space, fought some evil alien named Zarkon, and eaten goo in some weird castle. That's a lot to process in a... I don't know, what day is it today?"
"It's the third quintant of the Spicolian movement!" Answered Coran, "Hump day!"
"It's a lot to process..." Continued Hunk.
"I had to go through all of that too Hunk," I said, "But I still got up early, got dressed, and met Coran and Allura here in the bridge."
Allura nodded her head, "You must understand the stakes of our mission. Over the last ten thousand years," She said, revealing a map of the universe, "The castle picked up distress beacons from the following locations. We have to assume that Zarkon has conquered almost the entire known universe." She swiped her hand, "Earth is here. An attack on your planet is inevitable. Our mission is to free all of those planets. Coran and I are getting the castle ready to leave Arus. During that time, you have to learn to form Voltron, so we can begin fighting Zarkon."
"The princess is right." Agreed Shiro, "Let's get to our lions and start training."

I sat in the bridge with Allura and Coran while the paladins were outside in their lions.
"Feel the bond with your lions and your fellow pilots until five become one unit and you form Voltron!" Said Allura, and with that they went to work.

They seemed to be flying in formation for at least a half an hour until they decided to do something else.
"Clearly, this isn't working." Said Shiro, "Let's set down for a little bit."
"Maybe we should be building Voltron from the ground up." Suggested Keith.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, let's try literally building Voltron, like stacking on top of each other."
"Like a cheerleader pyramid?" I said laughing over the communicator.
"You got a better idea?" Asked Keith.
I groaned, "Give it a shot."
