I was sitting in the dining room reading when the boys walked in.
"Great job training today, guys." Said Shiro, "We're really getting the hang of Voltron."
"Seriously," Started Lance, "How far do you think my lion kicked that broken alien ship? Must have been like a mile!"
Keith stopped, "Yeah, that'll come in handy when the Galra challenges Voltron to a soccer match."
"Hey, I did something cool and you can't handle it. I get it."
"Your kick ruined our balance. We fell."
"Well that falling part was Hunk's fault."
I laughed and continued reading my book while they all sat down at the table.
"What are you wearing, Y/N?" Asked Shiro.
I looked down and blushed, realizing I haven't gotten dressed today.
"Uhh, Keith's shirt and some pajama pants..."
"Keith's shirt?" He shot a look at Keith, "Did you sneak over to her room last night?"
I glared at him, "No, Shiro. Keith gave this to me when we lived together. I guess I just never gave it back."
He pursed his lips and looked me up and down, "Go get dressed."
"Why? I'm not doing anyt-"
"Now!"
I rolled my eyes and got up, storming out of the room as Coran was walking in.***
"Y/N?" Asked Hunk from the intercom, "If you can hear me, lunch is almost ready."
I got off my bed and headed to the dining room where everyone was sitting. Well... almost everyone. I glanced at Shiro and he gave me a look of approval, meaning he liked my outfit. I had put on a pair of old blue jeans with holes in the knees, a Galaxy Garrison hoodie, and some white sneakers with my hair pulled back in a braid. I gave him a small smile, more out of annoyance, and sat between Keith and Lance.
"Where's Pidge?" Asked Shiro to Coran.
"He's probably checking on those prisoners we rescued from Zarkon. They'll all be waking soon in the infirmary."
Shiro stood up, but before he could leave Coran got a spoonful of some Altean dish that looked absolutely disgusting, "Open the hatch. Food lion coming in!" He said making airplane noises.
Shiro looked at him disgusted and groaned, "No, just... no."
"You don't know what your missing!" Shouted Coran as Shiro walked out of the room. Finally Hunk walked in with the food, Allura not far behind. Me, Keith, and Lance all looked at each other for a brief moment before digging in, shoving our faces with food.
"Hey, Y/N," Said Lance in between mouthfuls, "You know how you were wearing Keith's shirt this morning?"
"Yeah? Shiro yelled at me for it."
"Yup, well... if you ever want to wear anything of mine just go for it. I bet Keith's clothes are all black and boring."
"Thanks, Lance." I turned to Keith and noticed he was scowling. Not just at Lance, but at me too. "But... I happen to like black and boring."
"Alright, well let me know when you change your mind." He said in a flirtatious tone.
I nodded and turned towards Keith, whose expression finally lightened up. Why didn't he want me to wear Lance's clothes? I didn't really think it mattered, especially not to him.
Finally Allura started talking, breaking me from my thoughts, "I just got the final nebulon booster working. We should be able to leave Planet Arus tomorrow and take the fight to Zarkon."
Before anyone could get a chance to take that all in, the alarms started blaring. Allura turned around and swiped her hand, revealing the security camera's. We watched as a little alien slowly made his way to our doors.
"What is that?" Asked Keith.
"I don't know what it is." Responded Allura, "Maybe it's a local Arusian. He's approaching the Castle."
Every time he moved, he would yell. I couldn't help but smile.
"Aww, he's so cute." I said.
Lance nodded his head in agreement, "Doesn't look too dangerous."
"You never know." Said Keith activating his bayard.
"No." Started Allura, "Alteans believe in peace first. Let's go welcome them."***
Allura crouched down, looking into the bush, "Greetings. We know you're there. No harm will come to you."
Suddenly the Arusian jumped out of the bush, sword at the ready.
"Wait." Said Keith pulling out his bayard, "He could be dangerous. Drop your weapon!"
I sighed, "Keith, look at him. He's adorable. There's no way he's that dangerous."
The Arusian raised his sword, "No one takes Klaizap's weapon!"
"Keith," Allura scolded, "Put that away!" She turned towards Klaizap, "Please, kind sir, accept my most humble apologies."
Klaizap stood up straight, "I am Klaizap, bravest of our warriors. Our village is over Gazrel Hill. I come seeking answers as to why the Lion Goddess is angered with her followers."
"Followers?" I asked, "Lion Goddess?"
"The one the ancients spoke of." He said pointing to a carving on a big rock.
Allura smiled, "What makes you think she's angered?"
"Destruction is everywhere. In the past few suns, fire has rained from the heavens and a giant has danced in the sky."
Hunk leaned over towards Lance, "I think he's talking about Voltron."
"Yeah." Said Lance, "I got that."
Allura fixed her vision back on Klaizap, "You have not angered the Lion Goddess."
"How can you be certain?" Asked Klaizap.
"Because I am Allura and this is my Castle."
Klaizap gasped and dropped to his knees, "Lion Goddess!"
"Please, bravest warrior, take us to your village so that we may meet your neighbors."
