I stood waiting in the fur coat you gave me, holding myself as I shivered, the wind was blowing quite fiercely tonight. The coat did little to fight against it.

So when I finally saw your car pull up I felt a rush of relief wash over me.

You parked right in front of where I stood, leaning over to the passenger side to open my door for me. My smile wide as I let myself slide in. The familiar scent of leather and orange washing over me.

We didn't speak a word to each-other as you pulled away from the curb, the radio playing softly to fill the silence, the passing lights occupying my thoughts.

We ended up in a parking lot, eating a burger as we usually did, when you picked me up.

You held a look in your eyes whenever you looked at me, one I was too young to fully understand at the time. There was a difference in the atmosphere when you finally made your way to drop me off. You kissed my cheek and told me not to get into trouble.

It felt like saying goodbye.

I'm not sure what happened but it didn't feel bad that I never saw you again.
